Hey,
I received my Telecaster fitted with the Yardbird neck and Piledriver bridge today, and it has just blown my mind away. Ok, I didn't expect this amount of difference from my stock pickups (Fender Highway 1), which I thought were pretty good anyway. Im especially surprised with the Piledriver bridge. Firstly I had it running through the clean, with it showing off the model telecaster bridge sound; which accompanied with newly fitted 3 brass saddles sounded brilliantly smooth and slick. Enjoying this, I became a bit sceptical with the Piledrivers, because through clean they don't warn you how much of a monster they are overdriven!! It gave what I wanted and more - the overdriven sound is friggin JUICY, with loads of meat. I run this through a Marshall Shredmaster and the sound is absolutly devine. Harmonics are really rich too.
The Yardbird neck is fantastic. It actually has quite a compressed sound to my ears, giving a significantly punchy attack to singluar notes. When playing chords it just sighs beautifully; and each string is clearly pronounced. It also reacts greatly to how hard you strike the strings.
Again I was surprised by how well the two pickups sound on the middle pickup position. It has the most glassiest, shimmeriest tone I have heard. Real soulful jazz. I love it!
Thanks so much BKP for making my guitar playing experience even more of a pleasure! I know who to turn to for future guitars (whether i need anymore, now!) :)

That's great Zeppo-you're the first to try mixing an Alnico V(Piledriver) and Alnico IV(Yardbird) on a Tele-alot of humbucker players do it and really reap the benefits and you've discovered how well it works on a Tele too!
