Title: TBX Tone Control, Mothers Milk and Prewired Scratch Plates
Post by: rperks on May 31, 2006, 01:56:49 PM
Hi all,

Thanks to Tim and all the responses to my other thread  -

http://bareknucklepickups.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4066&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=brick+wall

I am fairly near decided on a set of Mothers Milk with stock polary.

I have a couple of additional questions about either fitting the pickups myself or going for a pre-wired scratch plate:

- I presume prewired plates come with electrics etc.  Are there any benefits over my existing set (Strat Plus Deluxe).  More vintage tones, or more compatable with BKP'ups etc  I am particularly interested in the fact that my strat has a TBX tone pot for the middle/bridge pickups.

- What difference will the TBX pot make with MM pickups - will they be better, worse, compatible, what kind of tonal difference should I expect etc. ?

- Am I better getting my existing scratchplate re-wired or posting in the TBX pot etc.

- Are the scratch plates Fender issue, 3 ply and so on...

Many thanks again,
Rich

To me, it just looked like more complex options such as tortoiseshell, mother of pearl etc.

Okay, I've just placed my order  :P   Mothers Milk, Stock Polarity, Flat profile.

I'll post an update when I've fitted them.
