Title: Single coil sized humbuckers?
Post by: j7899 on June 03, 2006, 04:27:14 AM
I just won this on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7418217170 . I had purchased a Miracle Man for an ESP LTD Alexi-600, but am returning that guitar so I could afford the ESP Forest GT.  I plan on putting the miracle man in the bridge of the forest GT, but would like something like cold sweet in the neck in a single coil size.  Are such things made by BKP's? I haven't received the guitar yet, so I do not know how the neck pickup sounds, but I am always looking at my options.

Thanks!

Tim has a very low opinion of single coil sized humbuckers.

Tim might be able to wind you a single coil that could you in the neighborhood. The Trigoly Suites are pretty hot and I know Tim has wound some even hotter. So he probably can help.

I think we're really looking at sinner territory here  Search for clips in the player's forum. They're powerful enough to challenge humbuckers (they're  around the Nailbomb's D.C. resistance) and they sound AWESOME.

I saw the sinner, but I have heard such good things about the cold sweet I was hoping to get something like that in a single coil size for the neck.

The sinner sounded really good, I emailed Tim to see if he could voice a single coil similarly to the tone of the cold sweet. Possibly with ceramic magnets.
