Hey,
I have a zebra Crawler in my strat. I really like the pickup itself, but the zebra is 'creamier' in colour than I anticpated. I was wondering, if it is at all possible to send the pickup back to BKP and get it changed to a parchment colour humbucker, and (if it is possible) what is the charge for this?

It is possible with the invention of spray paint, but they charge you your firstborn. j/k I'd sent an email and ask.

There isn't a 'parchment' colour. There is only cream or white. The cream is pretty much what everyone uses, though it is darker than some of the real PAF creams. You could have it changed to black/white but that is pretty stark looking - they have the colours on the web page where you can check.
I can tell you though that the white is like the Fender white cover colour because I have a H/S/H set in white for a project that I'm working on at the moment.

Hmm...Phil, what would you recommend for this guitar then:

See, I think the zebra stands out a bit more than I would like. I have no problems with the black coil, but the cream is a bit too creamy for me, against the 'parchment' scratchplate. I'm kind of hoping that the scratchplate will get darker over time and the difference will get less noticeable, but I'm not sure - I've never owned a white guitar before.

What about double white?

What about double white?
Yeah, that was one option. But I'm worried that it might be too bright against the slightly tinged scratchplate? Thats the kind of thing I'm after, though. A more 'uniform' look with the lighter colours. To my eyes, the zebra appears lighter in the BKP colour chart than it does in the flesh.
Do you think white would stand out too bright?

I'll see if I can get you a picture of parchment vs white, to give you an idea. I have some parchment strat covers.

ah, cheers. that would be a great help!
makes you wonder why companies don't manufacture a double parchment humbucker.

This shows a BK double white and double cream, with both strat parchment and strat white covers. Hope it helps.

Cheers Phil, yeah that is a help.
I really would like to get some universality between the cream/white colours on my pickups. I'm thinking I might try a double white and get it aged slightly, after all that is the point of the parchment colour - to get it looking slightly aged.
