Ok I was originally going with a set of calibrated Nailbombs with a 4 conductor wire for my Les Paul Silverburst. But after reading so many great things about the MQ I'm thinking of that in the neck instead of a Nailbomb. I'd be playing the neck mostly clean, but I'm a fuzz but and love the sound of fuzz on the neck pup. A coil tapped Nailbomb would be more versatile I think, heavy HB sound for distortion and a coil tap for cleans and fuzz. But do you think that an MQ would sound better all around? Let me know! Thanks.

ooo good question...i'm interested in this also :) (sorry i can't be of any help :P)

It's ok, I'm glad to see there are other people with good taste out there :D I don't think a lot of people touch on the fact that all BK HB's can be split.

bump! inquiring minds want to know!

I've yet to meet a split humbucker that sounded better than a true single coil, everything else being equal.

That's true, I'm sure the MQ will have better cleans than a split Nailbomb. I'm just asking if the MQ can handle dirt as well as an unsplit Nailbomb.

What would they sound like together in the middle position? Ive also been interested in buying a MQ + Hum bridge im mostly intersted in nailbomb in bridge. THe middle pos is the only thing that puts me off. i would imagine the MQs can handle dirt quite well. Matt Bellemy (MUSE) is useing them. I saw him on Jonathan Ross last Friday and he had a guitar fitted the MQs and his sound wasnt clean at all, Still sounded good.

Yeah the middle position I don't know about. Tim makes calibrated versions of the MQ and the Warpig, I don't know if the middle in that combo would be very useable either. At this point I am leaning towards the MQ for the neck and a Nailbomb in the bridge, I hardly ever use the middle position so it wouldn't be too much of an issue for me.
