Title: Desperately need help on set up and rewiring!!!!

i have a reissue '62 Fender Strat with stock vintage reissue single coil staggered alnico pickups. I am finding the hum these pickups make (due to 'vintage accuracy i guess) very annoying particularly on stage and when recording.

 Could someone please advise as to how to get a thick creamy humbucker sound/sustain (Walter Trout style)  with simple rewiring and no visible mods? I have a perfect Gibson but it is trapped in spain!!!

 Also could someone advise as to adjusting the truss rod (neck relief) to accomodate 10-46 strings with a vintage synchronized trem (and truss rod adjustment at th  neck joint not headstock as with US standard strats) instead of the fender super 250 9's it is set up for.

No guitar Techs on call means  I am left to my own devices and its an urgent matter for today all help greatly appreciated!!!!

dunno how to rewire your pickups but would recommend you get some hot SCs from Tims range here.

Re the neck relief, a change from 9-42 to 10-46 will require a slight adjustment clockwise (more tension to the truss rod to compensate the higher tension from the thicker strings). Maybe 1/4 or 1/2 turn could already be enough. Go easy on the trussrod, don't force anything. Give the neck an hour time and retune again, as the wood needs some time to adjust.

 It just gets annoying when an instrument doesn't feel right and isnt responding grrr especially for blues and especially live!!
