Which is better for pure clean guitar with a rosewood fingerboard?

Both are designed for rosewood fingerboard guitars, and the 60's strat sound.  The Mothers Milk are the sound of a powerful strat wind with A5 magnets, and the Sultan's the older less powerful sound with the A2's.  For me it would depend what I was looking to play.  The Sultans will be great for classic open strat sounds, but I think the Mothers will be more versatile if you are looking for some hotter sounds too.

I have done some research about the apach'e and Sultans and I believe that if you want the purest cleanest sound then its the SULTANS.
Next would be the Apache's.
NOT the mothers milk, which seem to be a boutique versionof the Texas Specials-overwound Alnico 5, these are more for a raucous blues sound I think and not as sweet.

Both Apaches and Sultans are very clean and vintage but Apaches sound rounder and smoother to my ears. Sultans have more bite in the mids.

The mothers milks should still bge able to pull of nice pure cleans thought

Well I have Milks and an Apache and I don't agree with Stefan that the Mother's Milks are booteeq Texas Specials that are for raucous blues - as the name suggest they have that warm to bright, woody acoustic tone that John Frusciante is famous for - also Hendrix on Little Wing or any mid 60s strat player.

In short - great cleans, not soft like Apaches or but perfect clarity and articulation between strings.

Elliot, I didn't say they were boutique Texas specials, I actually said, going by what I read on the spec sheet, that they look to be a Texas special type pickup, as in "overwound vintage".
Therefore if this is the case, they are more suited to someone who wants a bit more bite in the higher mid and a a touch of crunch.

Couldn't agree more......Mother's Milk really do nail that woody '60s Strat tone of players like Frusciante whereas the Sultans have a softer attack and slightly hollower mid.The Apaches, as with any Alnico III powered p/up,have a bell like roundness to them which has a surprising amount of weight in the note.You will get great cleans from all 3, it really depends on how bright the guitar is.......on a rosewood board the MMs will equip themselves admirably and have slightly better cut than Apaches.

Tim,
Talking about single coils, what do you think about the Suhr V60? Did you ever heard them? Like them? What BKP model would be the closest, to your opinion?
