Title: suggestions for modern w/snake pup?

Hi guys. 1st post.

I'm about to embark on a Whitesnake tribute, and we're looking to recreate the sound the guys are currently producing live ie Doug Aldrich/Reb Beach. I'm mostly concentrating on the Aldrich sound. Needs to be fairly versatile, some clean work (Is this Love etc), but mostly balls out modern sounding distortion.

I have a PRS CE22, and am think of changing the Dragon IIs for BK pups.

I'd be greatful for any suggestions!

I think a Cold Sweat set will do what you need.

I think Cold Sweat (Ceramic) is more "full on" than "from Clean to Heavy". Wouldn't an Alnico model be better for the purpose? Maybe a VHII or Holy Diver?

I totally agree with TO, the cold sweat will nail all your 'snake needs.
I have their recent live dvd from london and Doug Aldrich has a tone very similiar to John Sykes and the Cold Sweat humbuckers are just like having John Sykes living in your guitar!
If it helps i can post an old clip of mine that has the Cold Sweat's in a John Sykes/Whitesnake style,minus the leather trousers and long hair!

I have a clip that uses Cold Sweats, as well, in the player's room, called Epic Metal. Sorry, it's not Whitesnake, but it IS  a mic'd amplifier, not a modeller.

I know but it gets hot playing guitar in my conservatory with leather trousers and a wig! To much info?

The Cold Sweats have a big big sound and sustain forever, nice clean as well.
