Title: need low-volume amp for old metal riffage!
Post by: mike on June 22, 2006, 07:37:31 PM
Hi.

I'm in need of an amp just for home use, no jamming, mainly practice, that will be kept at bedroom levels most of the time.  need some decent old-school metal vibe, like Mercyful Fate & King Diamond, Venom, Judas Priest, and the like.

does a combo exist for this?  or should I be looking into a dist pedal & combo setup?  are those Marshall AVTX combos worth checking out?

or is a digital modelling unit or combo my best bet?

many thanks

:D What`s it gonna be used for ?

If it`s just practice then to be quite frank i`d get a small modeler type amp. Pod, Vox, Beringer, Boss all make lower volume practice amps. You`ll be able to get a full range of sounds out of`em & have loads of fun.
