Ive played around with my MM but I find for Wayne statics sound, its too smooth sounding and bassy. maybe its just me not being very good at eq'ing but I want to try and get that great 'in your face' aggresive sound that he hasw on the executioners "its going down" track.
anmy suggestions on another suitable PU similar to a Duncan distortion or amp suggestions. I have the Line 6 guitarport riff tracker but its proving a little cr@p at the mo.
anyway cheers

doesn't wayne static endorse the Marshall MG series? i'd expect the easiest way to get close to that sound would be to buy one - they're dirt cheap. In fact i'll sell yu a MG50DFX if yu like?
I haven't actually heard static-X for quite a few years now, so i'm afraid i'm not really in a position to comment on pickups.

Get an EQ pedal & tweak the tone in - I've recently got an MXR Kerry King EQ which is just the dogs bollocks. My Randall was a bad mother$%er before, but now it's a madman.

He may endorse em, but no way does he actually use them! Look at people like Mick Thompson ( line 6 spider II endorsee ) never plays them, nor does it sound anything like his tone.
However I do imagine Wayne does use Marshalls. I would try scooping your mids quite a bit, and turning up the gain.

It's because of people like yu that i'll never get rid of this MG :P

In Marshall's catalogue there's something about him splitting his signal. One to a Mode 4 and the other to something else, not sure, it's a solid state job though.

cheers guys,
Yea I know he uses solid state Marshalls with Duncan distortions.
Im looking at getting a new amp soonish, and want something for under a grand (preferrebley as cheap as possible) that will give a great metal sound for rythme (like statics sound) and then a more waily singing lead tone.
