My favourite effect, though i still don't have one. There are so many to chose from, for example:
Boss CE5
Digitech multi chorus
Marshall Regenerator
MXR Stereo Chorus
But i don't know which way to go. My guitar teacher said get the Boss CE5, but his musical taste varies a lot from myn.
I want a vintage sounding chorus, the 80's kind of one. Ozzy and Metallica, think of the song Welcome Home (Sanitarium) by Metallica.
Any suggestions?

Homebrew THC, of course! :)

Kind of forgot to mention but i wasn't planning on paying £180 for this pedal!

The only ones I've tried on that list are the Boss and Marshall.
Of the two I prefered the Boss, but I found that the BF-3 sounded even better, and has the bonus of being able to go into more extreme flanging sounds (which is pretty obivous I guess).
Try and test a few out side by side and see which you prefer, but also bear the BF-3 in mind.

Not played any of those mentioned, but the EH Small Clone is a great little chorus, for a very reasonable price...It's not quite as 'tweakable' as some of the other chorus pedals i've seen, but it's definitely the best sounding to my ears...

Their a bit pricier, but the Maxon CS-9 pro and the vintage one sound fantastic

Pro-Tone Lithium = excellent small clone clone in a pink box

EMO COLOURS

Chorus is for Sissis :)

I would have to say Boss Super Chorus. It's a classic effect, not very expensive, and you can't beat it's reliability. I like it alot. Great for that classicFrusciante clean sound...

I like the MXR M-134 Stereo Chorus. I had a CE-5 as well, but IMO the MXR sounds much nicer & is more versatile.
Of course, it's >double the price of the CE5, but IMO it's money well spent :)

It has more controls too, and from the clips it sounds pretty vintage.
-
EHX Small Clone everytime...

do not...repeat..do NOT go with a digitech multichorus...it sounds very very digital and sucks your tone badly, it also eats a new battery within hours then acts as though all the knobs are cranked and you cant change it (unless you put in a fresh battery or use an adapter) I also found that it is a pretty noisy pedal. the mxr stereo chorus sounds like it would be a nice choice, but..stay..away from the digitech chorus *shudders* btw..I have a digitech multichorus for sale..anyone interested? :P

I've always been happy with a Boss CE2 or CE3. My ancient Electro-Harmoix Clone Theory continues to serve me well, also; never tried one of the Small Clones but I'd imagine they're similar. If you happen to hit the lottery, though, my vote would be to try a Fulltone Choralflange --- shweet!
cjpm
P.S.: BTW if you do hit the lottery and decide you don't like the Choralflange, just send it along to me......

I now use the chorus in my Vox Tonelab, but before that I used a boss Dimension C pedal, the one with the four preset buttons along the top.
Simple to use analog pedal and it sounded great! which is why I still have it (for a rainy day)
This is not a very useful suggestion as they seem to be as rare as rocking horse poo now!

Thanks for all the replies guys, the front runner is looking like the EH Small Clone it sounds great!
-
I tried a Digitech Mutli-Chorus and liked it better than either of the two Boss pedals and much better than the Small Clone because it has a effect level control on it and the Small Clone does not. It is not too pricey either.
-
I own the CE-5, and you really can't beat it for price, durability, and tone. Yeah there are better, but they cost more too. Out of the ones you listed I'd go with the Boss CE-5.

+1 to this :)
I've had 1 for years and it suits me just fine. It's more on the mellow side compared to something like a Small Clone etc, which I didn't like. Far too extreme for the chorus tones I wanted :)

I have an old Ibanez CS-9. They're currently being reissued. Excellent 80's sounding chorus that's great for Ozzy, Metallica, The Cult etc.

(notice the dual outputs for stereo)

So now I'm vintage eh..... 8) My resale price just went up.
Should I ever decide to sell myself that is.
Anyway I use a CE-5 and its good if not altogerther overly complicated. I'm a bells and whistles kind of guy so it suits me.

Must confess that may be the worst sales pitch to sell a pedal I have heard
(kidding ya! - thanks for the advice)

I have a Jacques Meistersinger and it's a great sounding chorus.
-
I heard a guy playing a stereo Boogie combo rig with a Fulltone ChoralFlange and that was very nice!
-
can't go wrong with an EH Small Clone - they have real character and are available on ebay for £45...

I'm more of a phaser guy anyway, now where did that Phase 45 go...
