Title: Dean - Dime o Flame... now with Burnt Chrome Warpig!!

£499 as slighty shop soiled (small headstock mark and 1 slight smudge on edge of body)

More pics when i get it home 2morrow.

ANd i've been so GOOD and saved my money.. until now :P

Neck is fantastic, fast but not narrow, nice and wide like a les paul 8)

Its going to be my D tuned (maybe C) guitar for metalllllll!!

Sounds good as stock (all mahogany with a Dimebucker).. but.. its crying out for a burnt chrome Warpig and Coldsweat setup 8) :twisted:

Update:

Just finished soldering in my ceramic warpig.

Looks sweet in burnt chrome.

Going to give it a test run... 8)

never had one before, dont know why... maybe cos before now they have been hard to find (plus i guess they were out of business for a bit)

i think i'm sorted with my 2 guitars now.. god knows i've traded enough around before now ;)

My Custom flamed SG is getting WP set with Burnt chrome.
Trouble is Axe and Pups are in Texas with missus and I am here.
Will post pics when reunited but you will prolly have yours by then :)

Also, his girlfriend is still in dealings with Dean so I would imagine that no 'bad blood' is there.
I actually cannot think of but three manufacturer's selling/advertising products with Daryll's name, which is MANY less than many 'so called' guitar gods both alive or dead.

Well

I dont even LIKE Pantera!

This was the same price as a standard Dean ML but had a better spec and better paint job.. and i wanted a pointy guitar. Jacksons are more expensive and cheaper made\feeling (based on the RR5 i had),and ESP dont do a decent guitar in the range i wanted to spend.

Randy Rhoads has a friggin guitar SHAPE named after him (he played a V and a Les Paul though???!) and you NEVER hear anyone complaining?

George Lynch, Zakk Wylde, Hetfield anyone? Companies\the guys whore stuff they'd never even use!

Wow

It plays GREAT... and for a stock Dean pickup, the neck is awesome.

I like the SD Dimebucker, but its too unfocused and raw... kinda crunchy but doesnt have much 'soul'.. hard to explain.. it sounds GOOD though.

The difference between the Dean and my Legra... well

Legra sounds more classy and feels more solid (smaller guitar but heavier).. totally different necks, both have their place for me.

The Nailbomb sounds strangely restrained, but very soulful and toney.. its not as high output as the SD but it sounds better? Darker and with more clarity maybe.. more of a 'gentleman who is bad when needed' as opposed to a 'reckless youth always going crazy' (strange analogy maybe!)

Got the Legra tuned to D at present, probably switch that round though....

I want to get a Warpig for the Dean.. but i want to be sure its got the outlandish character and balls out sound of the Dimebucker, along with the tone and clarity of the Nailbomb.. hmm>

Have Burnt Chrome WarPig calib. set sitting in Texas :(
Custom Ceramic Calib. WarPig set on kitchen table here awaiting my Explorer arrival.

My Explorer should be here tomorrow or Monday. So as soon as I get the pups fitted I will let ya know what I think. My setup may be 'not bad' comparrison as have the Engl Screamer halfstack and EB Axis with custom pups in it.

Anywhoos, will let ya know just how AGGGHHHH the WP's sound bud :)

Frets are perfectly cut and set, neck is great.

The graphics arent painted on though, probably some sort of overlay\transfer?

Interestingly, apart from 1 very very small white finish blemish just above the locking nut the QC looks faultless.. except for where the shop i bought it from put a small mark on th HS horn.. that small mark save me £89 off sticker price muahah ;)

Dean are fantastic...very good value for money, unless you go all USA Dimebag which is £3000 ish!!!!!

The non dime guitars are probably better value, you get really sweet flame tops and paint options\neck throughs
