Basically I'm looking for a bridge pup to handle extreme distortion, the tones I'm looking for are Pantera, Slayer, Metallica, Korn. The neck I'm looking for something for soloing and some good occasional cleans when I need them. My guitar is a Schecter- mahogany body, and the amp i am upgrading to will be a peavey 6505/5150 tube combo. What combination of pickups would suit me best?

You want to check out the Miracle Man or Warpig for the extremer end of the metal spectrum............Nailbomb for the more classic metal era.

I really like the sound of the miracle man, the warpig seems pretty heavy, is the nailbomb heavy enough to handle the pantera, korn, lamb of god stuff but also a little less heavy like metallica, creed, slayer

Whenever I play a Nailbomb in a guitar I think of Sepultura-very organic and aggressive but not super saturated.
I think the Miracle Man will do the job well as it's similar in output to an '81 but with more low mid and generally more texture throughout the tone.

So the Miracle Man in the Bridge would be perfect for me? What about for the neck?

The Cold Sweat often gets nominated for the neck position with MM, so maybe that...or possibly another MM
EDIT: But I've not actually played them, so I can't comment on that front

The Miracle Man neck model is Alnico V and possesses a great deal of power and a great clean tone. You really can't go wrong- and everybody on the board will tell you this- with either the MM neck or Cold Sweat neck. They're both really good pickups, though the CS gets nominated a lot because it's very open, just hot enough, loads of clarity and sustain, so for a great neck lead tone, it's excellent. The Miracle Man neck is thought to have the best clean tone in the neck out of all the Contemporary pickups, so it's really up to you. Tim will steer you in the right direction, so talk to him as well.

The MM neck always surprises me with the amount of clarity it produces when run clean for such a powerful pickup. It also balances really well to the ceramic powered MM bridge.

The cold sweat may be a good option if you like a cleaner pickup to produce distortion :)

would the CS be too thick bassy for a darker mahgony LP?

Rebel yell all the way in the bridge! I play high gain stuff through a peavey 5150 II and mesa dual rectifier, very clear, massive tone!!
