Can anyone tell me the correct order my pedals should be set up before going into the amp ? I don't have an effect loop so they'ed go straight into the amp input.
My pedals consist of :
Marshall Guvnor overdrive, Wah pedal, Boss Delay, EH electric misstress,
I know there's a golden rule of modulation before or after summat else but can't remember which way round it is !
Cheers

The correct order for pedals is whichever way works for you! ;)
The "accepted" way is Wah > OD/Dist/Fuzz > Modulation > Delay
Maybe try Wah > Guv'nor > EH EM > Delay and see how it sounds to you.

cheers for the advice.
Whilst experimenting with pedal layouts i've noticed that depending which way round they are the effect of one pedal will drown out the effect of the other when using two pedals at once - e.g. the electric misstress and the overdrive, same with the delay and the ' misstress.
Is this just my imagination or is this common place when using effect pedals together in different orders?

A bit of both.

Ahhh , so I'm slightly mad then as well as confused :(

It does happen a lot with modulation type effects...
Chorus & Reverb sound very strange when run together...
Delay and Flangers... etc, etc...
