This is a small sample recorded with a basic £2 PC mic in front of my beloved Marshall AVT50. The EQ on the OD channel of the amp is broken so it's pretty much a real plug and play amp :P . Anyway I think the sound came out OK, if a little mushy sounding (the mic, the amp sounds a lot clearer to me).
Excuse the playing, my parents were yelling at me to turn the amp down (wasn't even at 9 o clock - can't wait to go to Uni :P ) and it put me off a hell of a lot.
It's the Nailbomb in the bridge of my Peavey Strat copy.
Oh there's a bit of delay from my little Danelectro delay pedal, and a little reverb from the amp.

Those AVTs aren't bad amps. I was in a band where the other guitarist had a AVT150 I think, it sounded pretty good, eventhough he used Dimarzios....

I remember when I played a rehearsal with a friend a couple of months ago.
I played bass (E string tuned down to B) and he played his 7 string LTD with stock 'Duncan Designed' pickups through a 100W Valvestate. Sounded like cr@p. Mushy cardboard tone.
Next tune, he played bass, I played my 6 string with my E string tuned down to B and a pair of War Pigs. We played No More Tears.... Black Label Society-style.
It was his amp, and he was shocked beyond belief: MAN, those pickups really make my amp sound GOOD!
Next time someone says a bad tone is all in the amp, think twice.
This Nailbomb clip is a good example of that too. Even though it's played through a (innit solidstate?) lower-end Marshall, wich normally wouldn't sound too good, it sound decent to good because of the Nailbombs, much more lively than a regular pickup.

Yeah the amp is solid state. It has a 12AX7/ EC883 valve in the preamp which does actually warm up the sound IMO. I like the amp at low to moderate volumes, I think it sounds fantastic. It thins out big time at high volumes though, and is very very noisy. I love it to bits for the level I play at (bedroom).

Yo danny dood that was an awesum metal clip, you in a band? if not get in one you make cool metal riffs man and those nailbombs i just bought em :D so when i go round my mates house who has the weak and pathetic EMG 81's in his ESP guitar i shall blow him away and outshred him. Hehe yeah btw ''rents are annoying'' thankfull my parents like my moosic so they like me playing metal on my guitar 8) u shud take ur stack upstairs put it on full $%&#ing blast and play till your rents drown in crushing metal tonality :wink:

Wow thanks for the clip dude. You just made up my mind about getting myself a Nailbnomb just as soon as I get some £££. And i agree with metalshredder, if you're not already in a band you shoudl be!

Cheers for the kind words guys :D I thought this thread was dead and buried ages ago. I do hope to be in a band one day, but I want to be able to play many different styles before I am. Long live the Nailbombs :twisted:

For The Bridge, YES. Miracle Man.
and for the neck i´m 'ALMOST" Decided for a The Mule Neck.
i´ll get some advice from tim, when i decide how and when i´ll order the pups.

Can i use a miracle man in the neck and a Nailbomb in the bridge? Cos the nailbomb would handle any heavy cool riffs i make and the miracle man wud create awesum solos. Because the choosing between either nailbomb. miracle man or warpig is hard so i fort mebee either a warpig and miracle man or a nailbomb and miracle man

The Warpig set has a miracle man with an alnico V magnet in the neck. A miracle man neck with nailbomb bridge would sound very good too.
