Hi all,
I have a guitar with a floyd rose system. When I got it, it had 10's on. I changed these to 9's to see what the difference would be like. The 9's have been on it now for about 6 months (I dont play that guitar that much).
Anyway, I didnt make any adjustments to the truss rod or anything after the change...could and bowing (think thats how you spell it) or anything like that have occured?
Any input will be much appreciated...

I wouldn't have thought that there would be any ill effect- there will be less tension on the neck and if anything this would relieve a bow on the neck.

You are more likely to have problems with tuning stability than any neck issues moving from 10 to 9
You may have to tweak the spring tension of the floyd, especially if it's floating.

Ye Rob...there have been one or two issues. Ive decided to go back to 10's...would I need ot carry out any work to do this or would the neck be fine with it (seing as it initialy had 10's)

Shouldn't be any neck issues, it's not as if you are going up to 12s
Are you going back to the same 10s as you previously used, as ig you go lighter / heaver on the other strings the trem will still have tuning issues.
When I switched ftom the Peavey EVH strings to another brand (both sets where marked as 9s) the I had no end of fun with the FR bridge, and it wasn't even floating :(
I have to say that I would never buy a trem equipped guitar again, it was just too much bother. I'm even going to block off the trem on the strat.

One other thing...How long is it ok to leave the strings ooff your guitar for without any ill effects to thye neck?
