Hi Newbie here :D
I've been using the 490T and 490R stock pups in my SG for a while now but am now thinking about changing the bridge pup for something else.
The style of music that i play with my band is rock with leanings towards punk and metal. I tend to use a fair amount of arpeggios and so therefore need a pup with clarity (more so than the 490T at the very least).
I was thinking about getting a Mississippi Queen for this purpose as it would have the clarity plus the fatness of a humbucker. Do you think this would be a good choice :?:

I reckon it would sound great. I'm going to be getting an MQ for my Gordon Smith SG1 in the near future. If you're up for a full humbucker, how about a Mule or Riff Raff? Low output humbuckers will give you great clarity, but enough punch for rock.

Mississippi Queen would be perfect

Yeah, thinking about it, a lot of punk bands used P-90 pickups in Les Paul Juniors etc. An MQ would be great for that kind of thing.

Thanks guys... the only thing i now have to consider is what finish for the MQ to fit into my SG which is Pewter (silverish colour) with Black large scratchplate on it :D

Burnt chrome!!!

Isn't that the really trippy finish

Burnt chrome gets my vote too - or some sort of chrome camo??
