Hey guys.
I had a spare hour earlier so I fitted the Piledriver pickup to my cheap Poplar bodied Tele.
Because my dads in bed (having been at work) the only amp I've been able to try it through is my little Smokey amp :D
While I can definitly hear an improvement from the stock pickup, I don't think the amps good enough for me to make a full analysis
I'll be sure to post back when I've tried it through a real amp.

Some clips would be nice. I'd like to know how the Piledriver sounds.

I've now tried the Piledriver through my Marshall JTM60 combo and my Marshall practise amp.
Through the JTM 60 it sounded very full and powerful, but lost most of that 'Tele sound', which kinda disappointed me a bit. I did roll the volume back to see if this improved things and while it cleaned the sound up very well, it was still nothing really like a Telecaster.
I had a spare 20 minutes yesterday so I plugged it into my Marshall MG10 practise amp for a laugh. For some reason, through this amp it still had the same full sound that it did before, but this time it actually sounded like a Telecaster should but with more balls!
The final test for this pickup will be at band practise on Monday when I can get it cranked through either my Orange AD30 or Marshall JCM800 2210 heads and my old Orange 4x12 cab.
I'll be sure to report back when I've given it a go :)

Is the pickup tapped?

Nope. Just a standard Piledriver bridge pickup.
I've also tried the Tele through my Orange head into the 1x12 cab of my Marshall combo. It sounded great!
I set the amps gain to about 6-7 and when set like this with the guitars volume control right up, it sounded like a traditional Tele but with more power and balls to it. Everything I wanted :) When the volume control was turned down, the sound cleaned up beautifully and didn't lose much volume, just reduced the gain.
All in all, I'm very impressed with this pickup so far and can see me using this guitar alot more live now :) :D

I'm under the impression you have a large amount of money Mr Brow - JTM 60, JCM800, AD30 AND a load of BKPs :P

You'd be wrong mate
Everything I've bought (aside from the odd guitar and my BKPs) have been 2nd hand and I found good deals on them.
I got the JCM800 for £220 when I was 15, got the JTM60 for £175 plus this horrible V I had and got the Orange when it was only 6 months old for less than half price :)
Until I started my job a month back, I've been unemployed since last June and have been totally skint. So I celebrated by buying a Tele pickup :D

Wow, when I'm next in the market for gear I'll get you to help find a good deal :drink:

I was just lucky alot of the time I think. S'ppose I have been quite fortunate though with some of my findings :)
