Title: Mothers Milk and Apache - Warning BAD PLAYING
Post by: Elliot on June 06, 2005, 07:26:39 PM
I was mucking around - with my strat trying to record things - as you will hear I am not good - BUT - despite the cr*ppy playing I think the sound of the pickups comes through well (I have only been playing electric for about a year).

Gear: Squier JV 62 Strat, No amp - but through a Digitech Bad Monkey's DI channel - rhythm is with the BM with all knobs at 12, lead is on the Texas Lead setting.  Recorded onto a Iriver MP3 player and mixed on the Mixcraft freebee mixer.

As I said - I cannot play for toffee - this is just for the sound of the pups  :D

The 12 bar rhythm background is a Mothers Milk neck
The first 'lead' (a'hm) sound is a rwrp Mothers Milk in the middle and an alnico 3 Apache in the bridge in position 4.

After the bell sound I switched to just the Apache.

Sorry for the bad playing but it gets the sound of the pups over ...

The bell does it for me-well done, good effort.

Nice smooth tone, considering it was straight into the PC, thru the Bad Monkey.

Nice playing too.

Andy!

The blues is in there allright! Only needs a 'YEAH!' in there somewhere. :)

Good playing, you kept solid timing, watch the 2 bends at the begining, the licks were real bluesy though, nice one.

Good sound out the pick ups to, crank your amp and they'l come into a world of their own.
