I say not (but would like to see a higher res version)

looks a bit fake to me, and the dialogue sounded a bit scripted. Also, how come the camera didn't break? and the car didn't blow up?
I mean, those things have a HELL of a lot of energy...
nice link, though, rob.
:drink:

The trail behind the 'object' was a bit flat looking to me (no sound enabled as I am supposed to be working)
Objects going bang always make for a good link ;)

I don't know much about filming, but wouldn't the guy with the camera really have to lower the camera and look around to properly see what his friend was pointing at?
If you stop the video just before the explosion the flames coming off the meteor don't quite look right to me. But, eh, what do I know about meteors?
Pretty cool vid though.

Ye...fake...for start...y would they even have been just filming a truck drive at 5 miles per hour in th emiddle of the desert...
Also, the speed of that comet would have caused a crater or sumthin...as far as i know
-
Good mock up methinks.
-
that's a pretty cool fake.
but if that was real, all that would be left of them, would be another crater in the desert.
seriously. a meteor the size of a SUV? gimmeabreak. that thing would leave a crater the size of a basketball court. not to mention it would dig itself in while at it.
hmm... what fell back, after the truck drove by?
-
hmmm yer thats what i was thinking- there would be a crater and like davey said, it would have dug itself in.... it wouldnt just hit the ground and explode/destruct....
meh...
cool none the less

^ Hello Sambo! :D
They would be toast. Not whooping and driving around in the motor!
-
i'd still like to know what the thing is that fell down at the end.

i'd still like to know what the thing is that fell down at the end.
Part of the "meteor", or something on the ground, that flew up at impact and then came crashing back down?
-
:D Fake
Ok here`s the sciency bit !
Based on the speed of the object :ie the meteor, & how much it weighed it would have made a huge impact crater & gone bang with the force of a small Atomic explosion.
You could then imagine how much press attention this incident would have generated ! We all would have known about it.
Nice video though ! they`ve done a really good job of it.
:D 8)

One of my school deachers was fairly close to a meteor strike (many years ago) and described a flameing streak hitting the ground.
She said that it was silent until after it passed where she was, but that the impact was very dissapointing (it hit about a quarter mile away).
Apparently the remains where about the size of a golf ball.
It dosn't look real to me (why the black smoke as it's not as if it's theres any fuel being consumed). Still a fun video though
Hey Sam good to see ya !

Hehe, it is infact a fake, it was an advert on tv a while ago for that particular truck.
Meteor's are scarily cool though.
-
Ahhh that accounts for it's existance then.
Though to be honest I can't see why anybody would want a truck that can only do 5 mph ;)
If it was me I would be trying to do considerably more to get out of the area

"our trucks don't get destroyed in meteor storms"...
-
Hehe, yes an interesting marketing angle.
-
"our trucks don't get destroyed in meteor storms"...
lol!! nice one!
"wow really?? ill take 2!"
Petre

Surely you'd only ever need one :D

"our trucks don't get destroyed in meteor storms"...
Yeah a marketing slogan, it has the aerodynamics of a housebrick and it's grossly over weight, but it dosn't get desteoed by CGI meteor storms !
I think contintal drift may have been the force speeding it away from the dangerzone

Very good, but very fake.
