Post by: downrodeo on August 01, 2006, 11:36:34 PM: Definitley. A 100 watt amp and 50 watt cab...not so good. A 600 watt cab would be no problem with a 100 wat amplifier driving it because the 600 watt rating of the cab refers to HOW MUCH input wattage it can handle; as in, from an amplifier.

Nah - swapped them out for a pair of Celestion Sidewinders
Similar in some ways and has a bit more of that British sound as well

We're talking guitar valve amps not PA! Clipped tranny amps can kill speakers, clipped valve amps sound great...

My Rivera 4x12 weighs just over 100 lbs now. Would an extra 40 lbs really make a difference at this point?!! If the tone is worth it, I'm gonna do it.

I think I'll get 2 at first, throw em in my Marshall 2x12. If the tone is that good, I wanna get 2 more, throw em in the Rivera, and then get some hemp jobbies for my Marshall, or those Heritage thingies everyone is raving about.

I gotta wonder, although EVH have good rep. anyway, how much Signature Marketing is going on here again?

On a side note (and being in UK right now for first time for any length in years) Gibson's do not seem as costly here (compared with US) as was expecting/advised. Maybe indeed the price diff. barrier is getting less. Although with pound-dollar exchange right now gotta say buying US goods for Brits is almost like stealing them.
