Title: Looking for a new set of pickups .. uncovered ones
Post by: temps on August 03, 2006, 12:06:59 AM
I hate to ask a question for my first post, buuuut I've got my trusty 7 string axe here and I am looking for a new set of pickups for it. I have zero knowledge about the nuts and bolts of how my guitar works so I will be ordering the humbuckers from here, and then giving them to a shop to install...

My question is, I got from another post that I can get 7 string pickups from here, but how do they look? They aren't available with covers from what I gather, but what does that mean?

like this?

or will I see wires and stuff poking out of my guitar? :P And I can't get that wicked custom camo look at all??

uncovered means that the coils (or 'bobbins') are visible, like in the pic

as for the camo finish, i think there were some camo single coils floating round at one point, so it might be possible ... you'd have to wait for the higher authorities to get here

:D

welcome to the forum btw
