Title: CS too bassy for my dark LP's?
Post by: keano on August 08, 2006, 08:40:32 PM: I have 2 dark/warm LPs ebony necks. Wondering if the CS's would be too dark/bassy for them? I play Zakk to Whitesnake ala Sykes style. 80's and yet modern.

Post by: steve on August 08, 2006, 08:48:34 PM: I dont think so. I noticed you just posted a comment about my old CS demo,you said it was quite bassy. Its just how i voiced the tone when i recorded it, i set it quite bassy on the effects processor. Live through my valve amp the CS set had a big wide tone that always cut through the mix.

Post by: Tim on August 09, 2006, 08:40:52 AM: I've got sets in a '70 and a '78 LP Customs, both pretty heavy and dark-the CS has no trouble powering that much mahogany due to it's custom size ceramic magnet and the bass tracks really well.The high end is sweet but very clear and retains and good bite to it.

Post by: keano on August 09, 2006, 08:15:27 PM: Tim I wonder as you mentinoed you use 6550 tubes in your JCM800 would that have something to do with it, as they are suppsoed to bring out the highs more?
