Title: Rebel Yell Clip
Post by: Johnny Mac on August 08, 2006, 11:31:24 PM
Same drums-ish as the IT clip but with 12/8

A bit of reverb and delay added in Cubase. No EQ.

Guitar a cheapy Epi with Rebel Yell bridge.

Amp the Koch Powertone II. Gain around 4 on channel 2 bass, mid presence, 10. Treble 8.

It looses the plot a bit but i'm stoned!  8)

Hi Jt!  :D

Woodbines! 8)  This was very off the cuff

Ok, I did mess around with some reverbs and delays that could account for that one! Or my presence level is too high. I've kinda' got used to it on 10 with my amp, any lower and the tone gets thick and looses clarity in a wet heavy blanket type of thing :? My ears might need some guidance as I'm too used to it now. It's like a the loudness button on your Hi-Fi in a way. If you don't use it, it sounds wrong!

The recording set up is.....mega, but the parameters of this one are, it would seem infinate, but it's getting somewhere. I think I'll make up some pre-thought out templates for when things need to be recorded. Then that way I've got all the science bit done on a sober mind and can worry about the geetar more. Probably.    :D

Yes I managed to check out the Powertone 2. They had just brought one in for someone and I got in there before they picked it up. The sounds you can get out of that thing are incredible. It's the kind of amp you want to play all day. Gotta wait about 18 months, but I'll be getting one.

This just makes my amp gas even stronger :( I get sick of my tone from my Fender setup really quickly, after about 15 minutes of playing it gets boring, I even have more fun playing through my V-Amp 2 into Creative pc speaker setup :? I guess thats just bedroom volume though.

I really shouldnt read posts about amps when I dont have any money :P

Dot Cotton! haha classic mate.

I like this tone, although I recon mules sound much nicer. i think the steve stevens sound is great though, like some guy said they're a bit on the pricey side. Maybe you shouldn't have took drugs though, I find they make me a much worse guitar player, and person.
