I just kinda figured out the basics of an old version of Cubasis that Muttley gave to me, just wanted to see what everyone thinks of my first effort! Obviously I want some criticism so rip it to shreds if you must

One question - how do you adjust the separate volumes of MIDI instruments in the VST Channel Mixer? I have the bass in channel 2 for example, but when adjusting channel 2's volume it stays the same! Same for the drums as well.
Oh and for some reason when exporting to MP3 the quality was absolute cr@p, any ideas why? I had to export as a WAV then use iTunes to convert it!
Cheers!

Ahh the generation gap!
Your making me feel old and technologically challenged Tom
Very good for a first attempt mate!!
I export to wav then convert anyway. Not sure why it sounds cr@p but check your mp3 quality settings.
With the mixers also check the master but thinking about it that may not be the problem!
Scroll right along the mixer console to see if there are any other sliders. Also VST instruments have individual master volumes so to speak.

hahah, its not really too hard to figure out once you read the manual a few times
I just remembered about the VST instruments having their own master volumes, and then read your post :P
Oh and the MP3 was set at its highest quality setting apparently :? Strange.

Well you sound like your flying! I did reply to your other post about manuals, I got one by Simon Millward on Amazon. Very good! :D

Yeah, just read that, he doesnt do any for Cubasis that I can see, probably coz its so bloody old  I think I'm gonna save up and get a better version of Cubase or something if I get better at this :D Cheers

That was really impressive! Keep up the good work.
That being said, I have one minor criticism:
The software is called CUBASE, not Cubasis.
-
My version is VST 5.1 which was bundled with my soundcard. There are a lot of firewire soundcard interfaces that might bundle it too. There's an issue with Dongles for the you know what versions.
-
haha well actually... mine is called Cubasis, at least thats what it says on the CD cover and in my program files

Great stuff Tom!

Cubasis is actually the budget, cut-down version of Cubase.
Glad it's coming in handy _tom_ :)

^I kept putting off installing it for some reason, I kept thinking "Oh, I'll try that tomorrow" and never did :P Yesterday was a particularly boring day so I thought I might as well..
