Hmmmm...<scratching chin> I'd say buy a new guitar IF YOU CAN...but, I'd put the Nailbomb in the Gibby and see if that doesn't give you an extra edge on your tone! But, if you like your Crawlers sitting in it, I can't blame you if you don't want to swap 'em out. Dealing exclusively with Bare Knuckles...definitely less of a black and white issue in terms of choices, now isn't it???

i'd find a single humbucker guitar to stick it into.. the nailbomb bridge works so well in that kind of context

That's interesting, I have a couple of single-pickup SGs that I'll probably be BareKnuckling (eventually).

The black one's getting a Warpig because... well just because.

For the other one, my favourite, I want something versatile and I was thinking of going lower output - like maybe an Emerald - but the Nailbomb seems to get lots of praise for its versatility.  Any idea how well it works with a series/parallel switch?

(Sorry to hijack your thread sgmypod, but I notice you have an SG too)

Oh yes.  All you need for series/parallel are 2 or more coils, so with a single humbucker you're wiring the 2 coils of the HB in series (i.e. standard wiring) or parallel with each other.

You're probably thinking of a Strat or Tele, where the SC pickups are normally in parallel with each other, but they can be wired in series to produce a more powerful humbucker-like tone (like with the famous 4-way Tele switch).

Of course, you couldn't have a series/parallel switch on something like a Junior or Esquire because there's only one coil to play with.
