Title: apache volume drop
Post by: I_cant_play on August 22, 2006, 02:03:00 AM
Did anyone else notice there's a noticable volume drop at the in between positions with the apache set? I noticed this on certain clips that play through a couple of positions. is this because of the low output? this is the only thing I don't like about this set..other than this it's my favourtie single coil

I have not noticed it on my set though the in between sounds on the Slowhands sounds sweeter to me.

I have the apache's in my partscaster, and don't notice anything too obvious between pickup settings. What you could be hearing in the clips is pickups like mine that are hum-cancelling in positions 2 and 4. I don't mean to be flippant, but this could be what's making those positions seem quieter to you....simply a lack of hum.

Hope that helps.
Jordan.

On any RWRP set of single coils the inbetween tones will be quieter due to phase cancellation. This is also true of the inbetween tones of two humbuckers, teo P90s or two Tele coils, basically anything run in parallel.
