Title: got the trilogy \m/
Post by: Davey on August 28, 2006, 05:24:34 PM
took a bit long (more than two weeks to get to me from bkp!! .. damn post office)

it looks wicked! here it is with the warpig

(http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/9719/p8160026dk5.th.jpg) (http://img104.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p8160026dk5.jpg)

and how they look in the guitar. i think the oposites clash so much it's actualy cool!

(http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/9490/p8160028me5.th.jpg) (http://img104.imageshack.us/my.php?image=p8160028me5.jpg)

and i think i also broke the record of puting them into the guitar lol.

they were in, in under 5 minutes. i didnt even take off the strings lol.
the warpig was a tight fit, but it went in without a probem.

there's only one problem lol... they're not wired up cos i dont have the digital instrument nor soldering iron at home =P

i realy didnt expect the trilogy to get here today lol. i was preparing for a full out war with the post office.

sound clips... later. if i'm lucky, in the 2nd half of september.

If you think those pickup covers clash, then you have too much taste!
Now, I can find pickup covers that will clash! :)

They look amazing!!

Even Strat scratchplates can be removed without changing strings - my guitar has auto-trim locking tuners and even that's not a problem.

OMG! That guitar is too metal for it's own good. It might start running around hurting more innocent guitars.

Congrats!!!

the trilogy is wired and it sounds beyond amazing!

had to try it out when i wired it in and BOY, i couldnt stop playing!

to the dude that wanted a paul gilbert tone.. get this in the neck. it will do more than good.. but it hums, it's a single coil afterall. and after this i cant see myself going back to humbuckers in the neck, cos this exceeded my wildest expectations!

now, who can help me with wireing the warpig?

i want to do a series/parallel type and wonder if i can do it with a 2 way on/on switch.

and what do i have to wire together so i got the neck and bridge working together in the middle position on the 3 way. just connect the other 2 prongs to the middle one?

Hi Davey, sent you the answer in an email

thanks =)
i wired the blade all on one side =P
for the middle to work w/ both pups, i have to wire the live connectors on each side to the middle (respectively) right?

i'll take a stab at the on/on switch in a moment

never work on your guitar and cook something at the same time.. you'll burn something lol

just so we're on the same page phil, the 2 and 5 pins are the common ones to 1/4; 3/6 respectively, when the switch is in one position or the other, right?

ok. wired it up. works like a charm. thought i didnt wire it up correct, but that was cos i was playing under high gain lol. switched to clean and yea, there is quite a volume drop and it doesnt sound as full. total onslaught warpig sounds amazing!!

loving the cleans now, cos low volme gain sounds horrible. realy incredible!!

thanks again tim for sorting the pup out, cos of my stupidity, with no questions asked.
customer service second to NONE! and i mean it.

here's a shot of the cavity, if anyone is interested

now i go play till the fingers bleed again :D

EDIT: bridge, not neck... I give up...

Hi Davey, yes to both of your questions (but you probably already know!).  You might be able to cut some buzz by using screened cable to the jack and cutting the wires from the trilogy a bit shorter.  Also though you would need to screen the cavity.

I like the series/parallel on the warpig.  I think it gives a great second sound.  Glad you got everything all wired up ok.  Cheers

Says the guy who wired up a guitar without its neck if I remember correctly? BWAHAHAHAHHA!!!     ;)

A. I was poking fun at the paint job, not the wiring.

B. Davey knows I'm just joking.

C. It was the bridge, not the neck. If you're gonna mock me, please get it right. PDT_008

those pups will eat your cat, kill your neighbours, punch your mom in the face and then go around town looking for trouble, and if they dont find it, they will make some!!!!!

thankee!!

i like it that i wired it up for parallel.
it's good for playing maiden and alike, but in series it slays! damn. tight as a virgins bottom and it sings when playing leads!

the trilogy is just as amazing in it's own right, but i seriously need to raise it, cos it's about 5mm below the strings =/ and i cant find long enough screws.

i just cant give enough praise for the pups. everybody needs some!
