Hi I got a Warmoth Explorer copy that I'm putting together. it's got a mahogany body, bolt-on maple neck, and ebony fingerboard. for simplicity's sake, I have it routed for a single bridge humbucker and vol pot and nothing else. it's going to have the t-o-m/stop tailpiece setup.
I'd love to get close to Hetfield's crunch tone from the song Battery off Master of Puppets. actually that entire album has righteous rhythm crunch. it's a diehard grind with clarity and chunk. I just bought a used Mesa Mark IV half-stack; I'm hoping I can get close to that tone.
what Bareknuckle model would get me in the ballpark?
Thanks!

Well, I just took a great spin on my Miracle Man loaded LTD MH-301, and I- being the huge Metallica fan that I am- couldn't stop myself from playing some classic 'Tallica riffs: Master of Puppets, Creeping Death, Fade to Black. It's definitely the one you're looking for. It's very clear, clean and crunchy. Excellent bass response, excellent for palm muted metal riffs that Hetfield is the master of. So, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR!? Go get 'em. A Cold Sweat in the neck and Miracle Man in the bridge isn't a required setup for the Metallica sound, but I'd reccomend it. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I'm looking for the same kind of tone, some people suggested a Custom Ceramic Warpig for Hetfields MoP tone.

Amen

Gotta be a Miracle Man for Puppets or Hetfield tone in general. The Warpig is too dark (low mids) for Hetfield's tone (imo).

Tis why the Custom WP, ceramic is diff.
