Dunno if the coating on em is the same as gold covers but to clean my gold ones up I used a bit of the stuff I use to clean my strings - Kyser Dr Stringfellow or something. Probably not the best thing to use though. My grandad once told me to use toothpaste to shine up the gold aswell (plus it leaves it minty fresh  :P )

A dry or slightly damp cloth. Rub until it shines! Chemicals used for this kinda thing are usually more trouble then they are worth!

I use a silver polish sold in UK supermarkets under the brand name 'Carr & Day & Martin'.

I saw another brand, but the other brand specified that it could not be used on Nickel.

The C&D&M brand has worked well for me.
