Yeah - we're gonna have a bit of a sale on there and shift a few guitars
I'm keen to make some new stuff (especially in time for next years London Guitar Show) and have to make some room for them.
So there may be a few bargains going either via seconds out or ebay

Jon, are your strings pure nickel?
Title: Feline Strings - finally in eBay shop
Post by: FELINEGUITARS on September 07, 2006, 05:03:22 PM
No - they are a nickel plated steel - typical of most of the strings you can buy
Nickel content is about 8%

Very few companies do a pure nickel wrap these days - although there is an interest in such from the retro market

Good stuff - might have to pick up a pack to try next time I restring one of my guitars, or when I finish building my first guitar (whichever is first). Buy British!  8)

I'd like some 9-46's for my strat. Can I just call and pay by switch as using paypal has turned into an almost psychadelic experience for me.

Even more worryingly, I'd probably be more distracted by the expensive stuff  :(

Are pure nickel strings legal in the EU - I remember there is some directive banning the use of nickel if its primary purpose is to come into contact with skin (or maybe it was just necklaces)?

Knowing the EU, there is a 200000 word document on it and the committee that produced it went on a fact finding trip to the Maldives to consider all the angles.

Forgot to say that we are also handling sales of Vince Ray's own "Screaming Zombies" string.
(Vince was the great artist who did the artwork on our string packs...)
Essentially the same as our Light Tops, Heavy Bottoms but the packaging is just mental.
Check it out below

No - all claims off goo goo slime have been exagerated by Vince - I think they call it artistic license.

Our strings are typical  nickel plated steel on the wound strings and plain steel  on the unwound - just like Ernie Ball and D'addario.

They feel great and last pretty well for most people.
We think they sound great and a few people on here who have tried them have found the same.

Vince Ray is an awesome artist, he's one of the few people to ever produce Flash sheets that I would actually consider having tattooed on me  :D

Thanks for the info. My next string purchase will be @ Feline's.

Edit:

Hey, what about a set of Feline strings with BKP's instead of the Darco's?

That would be up to Tim and to be fair it would be wrong for him to show any partisan behaviour towards me - as he sells to other makers and shops etc and to look like I was getting preferential treatment would be unfair and offputting.

Make more sense if he labelled the strings as BKP strings than to use another maker's name - but the strings that Tim has used are good - both the Darco and the Framus ones
