Just listened to a demo of the Crawler in the bridge last night, wow! That may be just the sound I want with my new guitar. (Which I finally found out it was a mahogany body after searching and searching! )
So that has been noted, will save up for that, I thought. Time to hear the neck position... ughhh, not my cup o tea at all there?! Maybe through Geoffs own amp it sounds great, but I dont think I'll choose that for my neck...  I want something more Santana, more Gilmour, more Think Lizzy. You know, that beautiful thick tone they got when they used LPs.
:?
Trouble is Tim has over achieved, I now have far too much to choose from!

Surprised you thought that, because (as I understand it) the Crawler neck is the same as the Abraxas neck, so it should do Santana very nicely!
It's funny, when I listened to the Crawler clips I loved the neck pickup tones but the bridge sounds too warm - it's a sophisticated, fine wine kind of tone but I want something more rough 'n' ready.
There are so many to choose from, but it's fun deciding isn't it? :D

Mule neck may be what you're after, it sounds amazing for cleans on a cranked Fender :)

I already have an abraxas neck, not yet installed, and a nailbomb bridge. Just waiting for time/money to get the custom guitar finished. So if its the same as the abraxas I'll probably put it down to the amp in the clip!
Maybe I'll just install those and get more pickups later...

Nearly forgot. Thanks for the suggestion, will look into that!

I was curious what that body was too myself. I would have put money on alder...

Well, all I could find was the Ibanez listing for the new SA models (mine is an SA360) and they all seemed to be mahogany of some sort or another.
Havent got the guitar yet though, was "delivered" while I was at work today and has gone back to the depot. :(

Oh sorry I was talking about the guitar used for the demo sound clips as I misread your post and thought that's what you said, which I am pretty sure is alder... and sure sounds like it.
I think they should be fine in mahogany too though, but it will sound different.
