I hadnt recorded anything for ages so I decided to download some backing tracks and just jam along and record to see what it sounded like.. which means lots of mistakes  I quite like the tone though so I thought I might as well post it as I have nothing better to do. Oh yeah its the neck pickup and its not me playing at the start, that was just included on the backing track.

:D sounded good to me Tom ! :D
A nice fluid style of blues playing there [ including the mistakes ]

Tom? Is that the Mule in the neck position? Sounds perfect! :D :D :D

Yeah its the neck Mule. Been jamming along to a "Texas shuffle" track on the middle setting with both Mules, it sounds almost stratty so I'll record it later to show you how good the middle setting sounds 8)
Cheers for all the comments :D

Sounds really good mate, whats the setup?
-
I was using my usual recording setup, Epiphone LP Custom with mules into V-Amp 2 which goes straight into the mic socket.
-
Tom, you are determined to make me buy some Mules aren't you? :D
Great playing and tone, again!
-
Do it! It'll be well worth it, only thing is when playing through a real amp they sound their best when the amp is cranked and your playing gets a bit agressive :) Same as with any pickups though I suppose

Tommy McDude! That's really, really cool mate. Lovely phrasing, spot on man, wooo hoooo! The tone is just woah :!: The track and recording is Mmmmmmmm 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) /10

You could just rip in a Black Crowes style outfit!
Keep it up Tom and do some networking!
I bet your giving your Dad a watery eye dude!!

Yep, i must agree with all the positive comments above. I hear a massive improvement in your playing on this clip, its very mature and the tone is great. Rock on mate!
-
:D I didnt realise my playing had changed at all but thanks for letting me know, thought I was stuck in one of those ruts. Still havent done that texas shuffle one yet but may do it over the weekend sometime.
Cheers :) Hopefully gonna get a SM57 soon-ish so I may be able to get some clips of these Mules through a proper amp!

Sweeeeet tone! Where do you get your backing tracks from?
-
www.guitarbt.com mostly, sometimes Total Guitar has some ok songs covered but most of the time they're all cr@p. I have a pile of good TG backings and a pile of shite ones, the shite pile is 2x as big as the good one
-
I bought a 3 cd pack of Blues tracks a while back- very good variety and well produced. I have lent them to a mate at the mo but they are about the best I have heard.

Do you have a link to somewhere I could buy em? Blues tracks seem to be the only ones I'm inspired to jam along to and solo over the top, although I dont listen to loads of blues its all I can play well

I got them from a local store. When I get them back I will make a note to let you know who produces them. There are 3 cd's and each track has a 2 minute demo of what "they" would do and then a track to play over. There are all kinds of blues-all trad stuff but great fun and you have to work at being inventive is an enjoyable challenge.
