Title: Which pickups? Please Help?
Post by: MattBrush on September 18, 2006, 07:25:56 PM
Hey guys,
I use an Epi LP through an AVT50. Hopefully I'll be ordering a set of Bare Knuckles soon.
In the band I play in we play from acdc style to metallica. I'm not sure what pickups to order, I need something that will give me a good lead sound (cos I play lead) but also a crunchy rythm sound.
Any info much appreciated.
Matt

Hi Matt,

I would use a Cold Sweat set for that range of styles.

oh and what matt forgot to say is... he would like pickups with nice pink ribbons and flowers on because hes gay...  :D

but aside from that haha.... ummm yer im not sure but i heard nailbombs are quite versatile...?

any truth in this guys?

i say this cause obivously AC/DC to Metallica is gonna need versatility.

(i know matt by the way so im allowed to call him gay)

I think a Nailbomb will be too thick for AC/DC style crunch.  I'd go Cold Sweat.

Agreed.

LP fitted with Cold Sweats should do a decent Metallica. Think Jaymz '76 Les Paul Custom (with the maltese cross and racing stripes).
