Title: Koch amps
Post by: Ilkka on September 20, 2006, 02:32:54 PM
Whoah... I bought my koch studiotone combo about a month ago.. Is this thing good or what.. anyone else got this amp, or other koch? all i can say to those who haven't heard koch amps is that go to a store and try one :D

it's a handmade 20watt class-a tube amplifer, this thing is pretty loud, i can easily play it with a drummer.

it has only one 12" speaker so extra cabinet would be nice. and maybe an overdrive pedal, i don't use any pedals when playing this thing. i have tryed boss metal zone with this thing and got the "enter sandman" sound :D

anyways very good versatile amp! i recommed trying!

the studiotone is very nice. not really what I was after though, when I was trying it- I've already got an amp that'll do everything.

:drink:

I went to try out an Engl Thunder 50, none in the shop so they had me try a Studiotone and I was blown away.
My other half talked me out of buying it there and then - bloody good job really cos I found a second hand 100W Multitone head & cab a few days later which I blagged for not much more than the Studiotone. Fantastic amp, with a huge sound.

My Koch's just as big as the Powertone II, it's just not as dirty.
