Just getting back into playing after about a 10 year break and am looking to put some new pickups in the old 68 LP (formerly) Goldtop. Yes I'm one of those "idiots" who refinished my GT and replaced the p90's with t-top HB's about 30 odd yrs. ago. What can I say, I was a Peter Green freek and who knew the GT's would be worth $$$! Most of my playing now is clean and at home so volume is not a priority. Mostly a blues player ( still love the PG sound) but also play a little latin (Los Lonely Boys, Santana style). Play through a MK 1 60 watt Boogie (ser.# A425 -this I didn't mess with!) Now to the point: I'm looking for suggestions on pups (leaning towards Stormy Mondays or Mules) and also wondering if BK ships to the US or if I would have to buy "off the shelf" from a US dealer. Thanks for any info!

If you like Greeny's tone, email Tim from Bareknuckle about the "Mules for Greeny", I don't think they've been officially released yet but, iirc they can be ordered over the phone. They're designed to sound very much like the pup's in the LP that Greeny gave to Gary Moore, where he'd stuck on of the pickups in the wrong way round giving him part of his distinctive tone. I'll deffinately be getting myself a set of those once i've sorted the rest of the guitars in my collection! :D

They're a Stormy Monday covered set with a Peter Green wind. The middle position is out of phase, supposed to nail his tone. 8)

+1. I've heard something about these new Peter Green pickups that Tim has designed, those have got to be top of your list.
I'm sure Tim said they're a different wind to Mules and not just a set with the neck pickup magnet flipped for that out of phase middle tone.

++1 - If they are good enough for Gary Moore they must sound great. I have the unpotted Stormy Mondays in a 335, I replaced a set of T-Tops and the sound is much more open with just the right amount of drive. The other set I have in a Les Paul that you might like for a bit more drive is a Riff Raff bridge and Stormy Monday neck. Tim recommended this for more rocky blues and it is great. The Riff Raff gives a bit more drive and is slightly brighter.
I get pickups directly from BK all the time, yo save 17.5% VAT and the shipping costs are much less than the VAT!

I ADORE Peter's tone.... so my LP needed a set of those.
I've got some in Tim's kitchen ..... can't wait!!!

Wow, this is very tempting.... very, very temping.... it's the only thing I might consider swapping out the Rebel Yells for, or buying a new LP for :)

the second option is always teh RIGHT option ( although not always possible ) :guitar4:

It'll happen someday. I really really like the Rebel Yells, but I also am a huge Gary Moore fan too and that pickup combo in a Les Paul would just be cool!
