Okay, in an attempt to keep other threads clear, here is where we can discuss our upcoming BK jam & drink!
First, the date: OCTOBER 21, 2006
The location: Probably NYC, but we may move this to Hoboken for reasons that we will discuss.
The agenda: Bring a BKP equipped axe or two for other forum bros to wail on!!
I would like to get a roll call here of who is attending, and what guitars you are bringing.
I have guitars with:
VHII
Miracle Man/Irish Tour
Cold Sweat/Trilogy
And possibly by the 21st:
Riff Raff/Stormy Monday
-
Also ...
Can we pls get this thread made into a sticky until 21 October?
-
Damn your noo yoikian BK & Beer fests!
Thats a much better name, btw, now I read it back
Any chance of one in cumbria?
Though there are only wo people I know that have Bks here: me and a guy that will buy whatever guitar stuff I tell him (I have to be carefull  He got a sinner/trilogy set for his jaguar: sorted 8) )
Its a bit of a drive from NYC...
-
1. I will bring my SG with Warpig bridge and Mississippi Queen neck.
2. Would like Phil's HSH Nailbomb/Irish guitar for a friend to check out.
I have no problem driving to jersey. It will just cut my drinking qty....lol
-
ok I wanna come, and I love NYC...oops I live in London. Will be in NYC from 25 December to 31 Jan...if you know of any good bands playing then I would be most grateful.
-
Okay, cool!
So far we have:
Myself
My friend, Mike
PhilKing
broken cord
Shag101
Shag's friend
-
Leeds to NYC.. just before my 22nd birthday.. no thanks haha.
nice idea though, i'll try come to any in the uk though.
-
If we are in NY I can bring the Nailbomb guitar and a PRS with Rebel Yells. If we are in Hoboken, then there are lots of BK equiped guitars!
-
I can travel to either place, however, I do not yet possess a guitar with BK's. I could bring a Strat with either Fraylins or Duncan’s. The SG I am working on is the one the BK's are going into; I did a repair and refinish job on it and I am looking to make the SG more of a rock than blues sounding guitar. I am looking forward to the sound sample and throwingback a pint or two.
Twilight, I listened to your band on your web site and liked what I heard, I am not going to impress with my playing but I am interested to hear the different BK pup's and listen to you all play.
-
Don't worry if you don't have any BK equipped guitars. There will be plenty to go around!
As for location, maybe we can set up your downstairs Living Room with my Splawn and a couple of your amps, Phil?
That way we will have access to --
- a ton of guitars
- several great amps
- proper ale!
Phil's place is literally 10-15 min outside Manhattan. He lives closer to the city than I do!
Phil's place also has a great sitting room with proper hi-fi for chilling and listening to music! (even if the spkrs are a bit dodgy PDT_008)
-
No problem. I'll send Neeta away for the day
What will you want to use for a cab for the Splawn?
For me it does save a lot of decisions on which guitar to bring.
I know you like the Joseph's really - at least my set!!!
We can also get good Pizza from the end of the block to go with the ale (I see all my Samuel Smith and Youngs vanishing if I don't stuff you with food!!).
-
I'm not only going to hear different BKP's but to take in as much playing information as possible. Like I said, I am basically a power chord player (cant solo even the least) so this will be a great break to learn some technique and proper playing....lol
If it is decided to have this shindig @ Phil's, then we should come up with stuff to bring (beer, food, snacks, etc..) excluding Phil of course since he's offering his place...chris
-

No way! Neta's cool! (and v. pretty! ;) )
Though I suspect all the guitar playing will drive her insane!!!
-

Agreed!
Tho Phil will have to bring the beer & we will chip in. He knows what to get.
-
I'm down for whatever you guy's decide let me know what to bring and I'm in.
-
This sounds like a great get together.
I wanna come!!
Shame in live in Brighton, UK.
I have about 21 days to save LoL if I wanted to get there and one, I wouldnt be able to raise enough money to come and two, any money saved will be going to my 'pimp my rig' fund.
I am gonna save for a set of BK Irish Tours, A Fender Blues Junior and a Marshall BB-2 Pedal
RorySRV(JiMi HeNdRiX  )
-
It all sounds great guys. I have the following guitars with BKPs:
Epi JR : VHII - Bridge
Epi Dot : MQ - Neck, Mule - Bridge
Fender Lite Ash Tele : Brown Sugar set
Gibson Studio : Stormy Monday set
Let me know if anyone has a preference.

It would be interesting to hear the MQ/Mule in the Epi Dot. I have a 335 with Stormy Mondays and a couple of other guitars with MQ's and P-90's. We will probably have a few guitars with SM's as hopefully Ben will have the Riff Raff/SM LP and I have the same anyway (plus the 335).

OK, great! Works for me. I'm itching to hear the 335 with Stormy Mondays.
-
Nice to have you aboard, TL!
This shindig is gettin biiiig!
-
If it does get to be too many people perhaps there should be a back-up meeting place. I don't know if you guys have any haunts that could handle a larger crowd with amps and guitars, but I for one don't want to be a nusance; I guess like all of us we are looking to hear up close and personal the Bare Knuckles we are considering laying out coin for and have a good time while doing so. On to the 21st.    :D
-
So let's take a head count and see what we're looking at.
-
So let's take a head count and see what we're looking at.
1. You (TL)
2. Shag101
3. Shag's friend
4. broken cord
5. PhilKing
6. Myself
7. My friend, Mike
I think that covers it at the moment.
Personally, I've had lots of experience with the pups. I'm mostly interested in meeting you all and havin a beer!!
-
There is no problem with that number of people at my place (I have had parties here with 50 people - then it gets crowded!).
Parking is always a bit of a problem in Hoboken, but weekends through the day are the best time to find a spot anyway.
Guitars and amps should be no problem either.
-
If anyone is interested, I could bring a Mesa Boogie head. I believe it to be a MK3.
I also have a boogie cabinet I could bring if needed. Let me know. Its no issue at all.
chris
-
If I can get to NYC I will go if I can get the money... I'll bring my Les Paul (Rebel Yells) and my ESP if I get the BKPs in time, which chances are heavily against me, but if my cabinet sells soon, maybe....
I can bring a halfstack (Marshall Major or SL-X) or a 1x12, depending what's more appropriate (what size amps are we bringing)
-
Where do you hail from, dean?
-

We will be in my living room with a 7 foot ceiling, so a Marshall 200 might be overkill!!! I have a Silver Jubilee combo for the Marshall sounds, Ben has the Splawn for the hot rod Marshall, I have a Princeton II for the Fender stuff and also a lot of McIntyre amps which are custom made recording and low power amps.
-
Hi Phil,
Do you mind if I bring my head and top cabinet? I basically know how this amp sounds and can compare different pups to it. thanks
-
The excitement level is high 8)
-
Hi Phil,

No - bring any amp you want. I was just making the point that a 200watt amp would be overkill because of the room size.
-
*Makes note to bring earplugs on that day ... *
-
*Makes note to bring earplugs on that day ... *
HAHAHAHAHAH
Back to the subject at hand. Do you guys have an estimated time? I work till about 1pm on Saturdays. The Lincoln tunnel will probably be a mess as usual so I would need to take that into account.
BTW - If someone needs a ride, let me know. Its a small civic, but I have fit 6 people B4. haha
-
Depending on my gear situation, which in turn depends on my gig situation, I will probably be scooting straight in from BK.
-
I live next door in Queens. My buddy lives in NJ about an hour away from Hoboken so he is going to drive on his own.
I'm bringing my guitar, head and cabinet that I am hoping will fit in my trunk.
So I will have the passenger and whole back seat to arrange people and equipment if needed.
Its a 2 door, so it helps I am good at Tetris...lol
-
Hi Shag101,
I wouldn't mind a ride if you're OK with coming to the Upper West Side. I'm right by Evan (NY Guitar Repair). And, I'll fill your tank.
Do I need to bring my own amp?
-

Not an issue for the ride.
I think Phil has plenty of amps to play with.
-
Great, good to hear it. Thanks.
-
So far we will have these amps:
Splawn Quickrod
Marshall Silver Jubilee
Fender Princeton II
McIntyre Bluesmaker (20 Watt Marshall style)
McIntyre Studio 205 (stereo 5 watt Tube)
Lexicon 284 (stereo 3 watt)
Mini-Mat
Custom built 8 Watt tube Amp
Trace Elliott BLX bass amp

Read this way:

Splawn Quickrod
...and some other cr@p.

Hi Phil, first let me say thanks for opening your home for fellow BKP enthusiast. If you have a time frame you are thinking about starting the soiree it would be good to know. I am scheduled to work until 5pm on the 21st; however, I will cut the day short to come and meet you all and have a good listen to the BK's .
Twisted Louie and Shag101, Evan works on all my guitars, He's like the McGuiver of guitar repair.
-
I met up with Phil last night, and we discussed this event over a couple of pints.
I think the first thing we need to establish is: WHAT PICKUPS DO YOU WANT TO HEAR?
Please check in with the pups you want to listen to.
-

No shite! Cool. I just recently met him, but he seems like a realy nice guy, great work and good prices too.

Please check in with the pups you want to listen to.
Anything that I don't already own, but a shortlist would be:
- Riff Raff, Black Dog, Emerald, Crawler
- Yardbird, Boss
- Apache, Mother's Milk, Irish Tour
Any of the P90s
That's a wish list, but I'm mostly looking forward to meeting
you guys and just hangin' out. :D
-
Between Phil and myself, we have every pup BK makes, with the exception of the Painkiller.
My guitars are more in the superstrat/metal guitar realm, Phil's are more classic.
-

Lets rephrase this just slightly:
Between Phil and myself, we have every Humbucking pup BK makes, with the exception of the Painkiller.
On the Strat we can do Apache, Irish Tour, Slowhand (middle and neck), Trilogy (middle and neck). Don't have Sultans, Mothers or Sinner at the moment.
On the tele front we have Piledriver and Brown Sugar, however my 62 tele pickups are like the Yardbirds.
P-90's we can do are Black Dog MQ, regular MQ, Pig-90, BKP-91, BKP-90
-
why do i have to live in europe?
-
I'm after the Nailbomb, MM and Crawler.

I've heard the Warpig clips on the forum but live would be nice. I would also like to hear the MQ or Pig-90 as I'm leaning that way or perhaps the RY as they sound great too. However, input from the rest of you will be appreciated. I need to make a choice for a neck pup for an SG, I am going with the Pig in the bridge. Thanks for asking.
-
Where do you hail from, dean?
A small town in Western Massachusetts that is kinda famous for one of its art museums, Williamstown. It's about a 4 hour drive to NYC I think for me.
-

lol.... well it does sound great turned down to 2 and clean too ;) But I did pick up a Soldano Supercharger for distortion and it also works for distortion at lower volumes. If I'm going for tone I usually just turn the amp up to 5 and set the pedal to the volume so that it sounds equally loud on or off.... oh, and 6 is when your ears start to ring. :P
Probably wont need amps, but if we do I also have my Studio 15 (15 watt 1x12 all tube... the amp the V30 was made for.... think Cream for sound). And of course I could bring the SL-X head if anyone does want to check it out too.
-

Now that is impressive... field day! ;)
Now to come up with some money to get me there...
-
I'm after the Nailbomb, MM and Crawler.
I'm after the Nailbomb and Crawler myself, as well as VHIIs, Irish Tours, and Trilogy Suites specifically but anything from the Crawler down in output is going to be an option for me.... but I am not sure if I'll be able to go because I've been trying to get a job since I graduated school back in May!
-
don't forget a mini-report to let us all know how it went :)
-
Sounds like a lot of fun-don't forget pics guys.

I need a beer list from everyone (except Ben), I have a lot of English ale and stout, but I'm not sure what you guys will want to drink. There is also a great Italian pizzeria at the end of my block, or we can get practically any food you want delivered.
Current beers in the house are:
Youngs Ramrod, Old Nick, Dirty Dick, London Special
Samuel Smith Imperial Stout, Old Brewery Brown Ale
Hobgoblin
Old Speckled Hen
Black Sheep Ale, Holy [Gr]ail
Murphy's Stout
Miller Genuine Draft
Let me know if you fancy something other than this so I can get it in next weekend.
-
More Black Sheep! I only spotted two bottles last night!
-
Phil, I'll bring some New Castle with me, it looks as if it will fit in with the in house selection.
-
If you like Newcastle brown, bring it. Otherwise, it will probably not be consumed! (Personally, I'm not a fan of NC -- and I support NUFC!!)
-
Phil, I'll bring some New Castle with me, it looks as if it will fit in with the in house selection.
Once you taste Sam Smiths old brewery brown you will not drink newcastle again (unless you can't get sam's!).
-
No preference on the beer. Selection is top notch. Lets come up with the list of what each person is going to bring. I usually go to the supermarket on the weekends and can pick everything up as needed this coming weekend. On the way home from shopping I could also stop @ the liquor store if interested...lol
-

Alrighty then; I'll sample some BKP's and some ale sounds like a double win :D
-
Phil, it looks like Mike is going to pick me up on his way through the city, so we should be in good shape re: getting the Splawn to your house. Worst case secnario, can I leave it at your place if I don't get a ride home? (Where it will join the rest of the junk I have at your house? :) )
-
Caution :!:
Don't bring Newkie Brown! They have rehab centres for casualties of that stuff alone up there! Sounds like a great night!
I might sling me Koch in a dinghy and get paddling! I might make it in time!
-
Bump :)
-
I will be going to get some additional refreshments on Friday night.
Ben has asked for more Black Sheep and Dirty Dick's (this sounds like a farmer's dream  ). I will get some Sam Smiths Oatmeal Stout and some Young's too if they have it.
I don't have much in American beers, just a 6 pack of Miller. If you want any lager type beers let me know before Friday.
Cheers
-
Hullo?
New Yorkers?
We are still gonna do this, correct?!!
-
Yeah, we're still doing this! Right? Let me know what you need, or what
you want me to bring, or how I can help. And, don't be shy.
-
Yeah... I am totally torqued for this.
-
Hullo?
New Yorkers?
We are still gonna do this, correct?!!
Damn TO I think you and Phil have sampled a few beers and know the BK sound all too well; the rest of us want to share your knowledge and have a grand time doing it as well. I will need to get some directions before the 21st so let's make this happen:!:
-
Definitely still going. I've been waiting for someone to reply to my post as to what to bring and a time.
Cant wait!!
-
Once you taste Sam Smiths old brewery brown you will not drink newcastle again (unless you can't get sam's!).
Hear hear. Newky Brown is dubious stuff. And it makes your face hurt. Sam Smith on the other hand is a great drop. Living in York I've been able to get it for as cheap as £1.15 a pint. Can't go wrong with that really...
TO tells me you've been educating him on the finer points of proper ale Phil. Keep up the good fight :D
Now only if I didn't live so bloody far away...
*Rahnooo*
-
Hehe ... I didn't even think about the subject of directions!
Okay, Phil -- that's your department!
How does one get to your house?
All I know for sure is that he's on Jefferson St in Hoboken, down the street from a good pizza joint ...
-
Good point Ben.
The address is 519 Jefferson St, which is about halfway between 6th & 5th (Jefferson is one-way downtown) on the left (the house has white railings outside, and is red brick on the first floor with white siding above). The tough thing is parking, but if you need to drop off an amp or something, there is a hydrant in front of the house where we can unload. There is also a parking garage between 9th & 8th on Jefferson, but usually there is street parking on weekends.
The other thing is that you need to use the bell on the basement door (we will be in the basement for noise reasons!), but it is not really below ground, it is about 4 foot below the street level.
Timing wise, I will be there all day, but I think from the sound of things that we are looking at starting around 2-3, and you guys can leave when you want!
-
Ok then, I can tell work I feel a sick day coming on about 1pm and I can scoot on down and get there around 2:00-2:30; Ill be coming by way of Greenwich CT. 8)
-
I will probably not be able to get there till 3-4pm.
Twisted Louie,
I can probably get to you around 2pm and then its just how bad traffic is after that, since its only like 10 miles away from there.
I was going to take the Lincoln tunnel. Traffic on a Saturday will probably be crazy.
Anyone know another way that might have less traffic? thanks Chris.
-
If you go into the tunnel from the west side (11th ave), it is usually the fastest. An alternative is the GWB and then the Turnpike to the Lincoln Tunnel exit, Hoboken is the last exit off 495.
I did the beer run last night and bought all the Dirty Dicks that they had (15 pints!). I also got some more Sam Smiths (Imperial, Oatmeal and Old Brewery Brown), Boddingtons, Murphys, Wytchwood Hobgoblin and Fiddlers Elbow, Black Sheep (Ale, Riggwelter and Holy Grail) and Fullers (London Pride and ESB). I think we should be OK for beer!

Hey Shag, the time is fine and the traffic shouldn't be too bad (I don't
think). We could take either tunnel or the bridge, so don't worry we'll get
there. My first bet would be the Lincoln. We'll see how it goes.
Phil, you've really have gone out of your way...let me know what
I can do or what to bring.
-
Phil, you've really have gone out of your way...let me know what I can do or what to bring.
I figured I have all the beer and we have a couple of great places for food near me, so if we have a whip round, we can get some stuff delivered. So all you need are any guitars and amps you want to bring (bearing in mind that we will have a lot of stuff anyway).
-
Phil you are the man; I'm looking forward to this it should be good. 8)

Phil you are the man
Phil, you make me want to retch.

I will have my awesome little Sony 'spy camera' with me, too.

Another thought ... I have a cool CD from Total Guitar with all kinds of blues rock backing tracks in different styles on it that we can jam to. Shall I bring that?

blues... rock?? PDT_022

blues... rock?? PDT_022[/quote
Yeah Blues (rock) the international language of music. 8) :band4:
-
Heh. Davey is refering to my general ... uh ... aversion to hackneyed blooz artists. Plus, I have a certain 'rep' as the Ancient of Metal to uphold.
Simplest sh!t to jam over, tho.
Plus, I am down with SOME "blues rock" bands.

Okay, T Minus One Day!
Is everyone ready for the class trip? Did you remember --

I hope you guys have a great time.

I hope you guys have a great time.
what he said.
i just got home from the gig, had a great time :D
-
i'm guessing by the time Ben and Co. read this there'll be hangovers involved?
hope it was a good evening, hope you learnt a lot, and since i wasn't there, hope you're all sick as dogs!!!!
seriously though, us norn irish kids gotta get something like this together!!
-
It's true there were many good beers there, and many many guitars with Bare Knuckle Pickups in them. However, the best part was meeting the other BKP forum members and talking music and playing some too. It was all good. Thanks guys :!: :guitar4: :guitar4: :guitar4: :guitar4:
The neighbors: :headphones3: :headphones3: :headphones3:
-
Sounds cool, tell us some stories!!
-
I had a blast. Food, Beer, Guitars and a great bunch of people. What more could u ask for.
Im still amazed at how Phil has 50 guitars, 1/2 of which are BKP loaded.
We will definitely have to do this again!!
Phil, next time I see you all the beers (dirty dicks) you can drink are on me!! I got to find some dirty dick in my area...lol
Hanging out with you guys will do (2) things. Make we want to play better and buy more equipment I really cant afford...lol
Going home, if a guitar store was opened, I would have walked out with a new guitar!!
thanks again
chris

Unfortunately I arrived late about 5:45, so there was already much sharing of the guitar. When I did arrive I was made to feel most welcome and was offered to play what ever I wanted. However, not being a seasoned player I mostly observe red and talked. I did check out Shag101's SG with Warpig and Mississippi Queen; Very cool vengeance delivered. TO showed his prowess of the fret board and shared his knowledge of music and let us check out the "Twilight Drive" ; if the maker of it could remember how it made it I would recommend this stomp box to all; ask TO to describe it in detail.
I can say this: Phil King was a most gracious host and truly a down to earth musician. He shared his many (I do mean many) guitars and told little histories of each. I wish I had arrived a bit earlier (cursed work); maybe there will be a follow up at some point
-
This threads making me wish I arranged to meet with you guys in the summer when I was in NY for a week on hols.. woulda liked to play a load of nice guitars through some nice amps  NY is too hot in summer for me though :x Although mum mentioned she wants to go back in the winter for some xmas shopping
-
It was great meeting you guys! And Shag's Warpig/MQ SG slays!
Everything was going great, despite the close quarters ... until I bumped into broken cord and sent a bottle of beer crashing to the floor!! (That's what happens when you sit around drinkin beer all day!)
I didn't snap any pics, but there were lots taken, so hopefully they will be posted soon.
Here's the one shot I did get from Phil's front door:

HHAHA! "Want to have a go?" "Piss off"
-
SH!T!
Phil, I just realized ... I think I left my Neil Peart book @ your house, on the cawfee table. Can you bring it into the city tomorrow?
-
Ok it took a few minutes to get the pictures to fit but here's a go at a few:
-
And a few more...
-
And yet a couple of more...
-
Ok Ok OK encore encore...
-
Wow, that camera takes SICK pics!
-
Nice pics! Thanks for posting those.
Ben & Phil I'm sure at some point next year I can fly in to NJ! I have family there too. Well if I'm living in the states it would be rude not to!
-
hi Johnny, you'd be welcome to stay a few nights at my place if you need to.
-
You know, looking at these photos it looks like we just knocked
over a music store or warehouse... amps, guitar cases, electronics
equipment, and beer.
Hey guys. Thank you all, I had a really fun time. Should you decide
to do it again, hope you count me in. Great photos BC, it couldn't
have been easy finding decent angles amongst the stacks of cases.
Thanks again for the ride Shag. BTW your SG is a beast, I wouldn't
change a thing, it's pretty solid as it is. Bens playing, of course, is
phenomenal but you all knew that I think. I mean scorching! Great
stuff, must make better effort to come see you guys next time. Then
there was Phil's collection. Well, what can one say? It was certainly
a privilege and a rare opportunity to try so many quality instruments.
Fantastic, really.
Thanks again, everyone! Cheers! :D

hi Johnny, you'd be welcome to stay a few nights at my place if you need to.
Thanks Phil I'll will do that man!
If all my plans go ok then you and ben will have to come to LV and we can go ballistic!!
-
oi phil... you lost some hair from the last time i seen ya?
if you two (and any others) get to go to next years LGS, count me in. i'll try and arrange, to bring my guitar with me.
sure looks like a fun time had by all. damn i wish i was there
*insert ben saying; get your ass up here and stop complaining n00b*
i love you too man
-
oi phil... you lost some hair from the last time i seen ya?
I hope not but hanging out with Ben might do that! We're going to try and make it to LGS again. As it gets closer we'll know more.
Cheers
Phil

As an additional thought ...
Shag's Warpig/MQ-loaded SG sounds mint. I have never been a fan of the SG, I just suck when I play one, but that guitar has some serious mojo! Even though I was still thrown off by where the neck sits, getting that thing to scream was like shooting fish in a barrel.
Also, Twisted Louie's Epi 335-ish clone with a Mule/Stormy Monday. SMOKIN'! I was challenged to try to figure out a way to get the guitar to do metal, and it did suprisingly well. Pinch harmonics were screamin! Of course, it lacked some of the bottom end chunk of a solid body, but it really sounded amazing! We joked about how funny it would look if I brought one onto stage @ a gig. I can picture my singer now .. 'Uh, uh. That thing is not going on stage the same time I am!!'
-
I only have one electric guitar. All my others are acoustic and nylon.
Since the meet, I am saving to buy a decent cheapo guitar to put in a nailbomb. I could not put down Phil's guitar with the nailbomb and kahler bridge. He said he got the strat style body off ebay for $20usd. It sounded amazing. All I did was hit a power chord and was like I NEED THIS PICKUP!!!!
All the BKP's were top notch. If I had money to burn, I would buy them all. Or maybe I can just be Phil's best friend....hahahaha

I have not been able to log on to this site from work over the past few days, but now I'm back. My camera was acting up while I was at Phil's house (having a five year old can do that to equipment) Some of the other shots I have were very similar to the shots I posted. The gathering was great crack (as you say in the UK) and I truly appreciate that I got to meet a few of the US endorsees of Bare Knuckle Pickups.
I picked up my Warpig & Mississippi Queen at the P/O today. It will be about three more weeks before I can put them in the SG because I have been refinishing it and I’m down to the last couple of coats of Nitrocellous. I will need to let it cure for two to three weeks before I finish it; then Shag101 and I will each have SG's equipped with the venerable Warpig with the Mississippi Queen combo.
-
I’m down to the last couple of coats of Nitrocellous.
I would love to see a pic when its done.

I'll put up several shots when I'm done. It was pretty marked up to start, which would be fine if it came from my playing it, but it didn't it came from abuse. My refinishing job led me into finding Bare Knuckle Pickups so this will be a special guitar when it it is finshed.
-
It's getting close to that time to start planning the next event.
-
Please lets do so. We can have a christmas/new years bash....lol
-
it will have to be New Year for me. I will be at home in Yorkshire with my Sam Smiths for Chrimble.
-
Cool,
I'm dying to get my Charvel loaded with that nailbomb....lol
-
Well, next time you lot have a jam, I'm booking some time off work to come over to NYC, I'd love to meet you guys, play some schweet axes (Phil, your collection is amazing), drink some proper ale (although you boys will HAVE to try and get some Pot Belly Ale over there) and finally meet some of you guys, I live right near tom and I've still not met him!
Andy!
-
there is a possibility i will be in the big apple post new years..
have to get replies for tix, cos the ones i found were expencive as hell
-
The next jam will not occur until the new demo is complete, at least as far as my availability is concerned. That would make it some time late 1st Q of 2007. (March, probably) I did say that it's almost time to start planning for it, however, and that's basically right. 4-5 lead time to make sure that everyone can make it. How is TwistedLouie doing these days? Feeling better, I hope!
Davey, when you come over (not if), we will schedule a few hang outs with all the locals.
-
It's getting close to that time to start planning the next event.
Sounds good, Phil is England for the Christmas Holiday, but when he comes back we should tilt a few more pints.
-
it will have to be New Year for me. I will be at home in Yorkshire with my Sam Smiths for Chrimble.
Because of you, I now buy Sam Smiths. I would have never tried it otherwise. Thanks!!! lol

Nice move up!! :!:
-
Happy New Year! It would seem it's time to share some Sam Smiths swizzling and some Bare Knuckle chuckling; seeing that we're all done with the partridge in a pear tree. Who's available and when?
-
Post demo-completion, pre-LGS. March looks good for me from this end.
-
Ahh March; the kiss of spring will be in the air. Wait! it already is, there has been no winter in NY as of today, 50 degree farenheit and December was 5-10 degrees above normal.
March is good by me, who else?
-
March is good for me, so long as it isnt the 3rd. I will try to get one of my friends to come this time. He was to come to the last meet, but had to bail out last second.
We are going to get his nailbomb installed this weekend.
-
March is fine, but by then I will only have a couple more sets of BK's, the next batch of pickups will be the PG set and a telecaster set. The PG's are earmarked for a new guitar that I am having made, unless I get impatient and pick up something before then!
I will have a whole different set of amps there though. I should have the EarCandy extension cab for the Silver Jubilee and the G12M cab for the Mini-Mat. With a bit of luck I might also have the Ear Candy special made up too (my noname single ended amp with a 2x10 SweetTooth cab and matching head box). Last but not least, we might get Ben to bring the Splawn.
-
Ben,
If you need a ride, just let me know.
-
i need a ride =/
-
hhaha.
just a little out of my way.
Will you be down here come march? not sure if the tix are cheaper.
-
i have no effin idea..
but i figure, i have to get my ass over there sometime soon, cos othervise i wont ever hear the end of it from ben hehe
-
Hi Guys,
We still doing this? I can bring guitar hero if you want so we can look like fools...lol
-
Yes to both!
-
This month or next?
First I guess I should ask if I am still allowed to come after dropping that Sam Smith in the kitchen. :drink:
-
Everyone is welcome, I think though that it will be March not February. The only date I know it can't be is the 10th, but I am thinking that the 17th is very near St Paddy's, so I'm not sure how that will be for everyone.
-
I'm good any day besides 3/3. Its the wifes bday.
-
St Patty's Day works for me. I can't stand St Patty's when it's on a weekend!! I like to take a 1/2 day off from work and hit the pubs early on that day.
I might even have new TO tracks to play for everyone on that day!
(Jimmy might even be able to attend)
My schedule is filling up fast -- I have gigs late March, late April, and June already.
-
Im good the 17th of March. Hopefully my buddy doesn't back out again...
-
The 17th is good by me. I'll have to start to prep work that I need of a bit early that day. :drink: :drink:
-
I now have gigs on the 24th and 25th, so ... if it's gonna happen, it'll have to be on the 17th!
Is everyone cool with this??
Edit: You can, of course, have the jam without me! PDT_008
-
The 17th is cool.
I actually thought we decided already. lol
-
Sorry, lads -- the 17th no longer works for me. Or any w/e in March at this point.
-
SUX!
April anyone?
-
Shame I am going to be at JFK only long enough to catch a connecting flight on April 20th otherwise I could see you guys for a swift half.
-
Dude that's 10 min from my house. If you have ANY time, let me know!!
-
Oh well .... maybe it will have to be a Spring fling or a Summer Jam...
The next gathering of the NY BK Chapter is __________2007
-
Will do Ben but I arrive at 1210 and next flight leaves at 1345 and I think I have to get through customs/immigration so I should imagine I'll be pretty pushed-judging by my previous experiences in USA..T'would be good if I could though. I am looking at making another trip later in the year so maybe I will be able to stagger the flights a bit more. I am making the return trip on 28th but I think you and Phil re going to LGS. Mrs 38th and I are maybe going to Chicago later in the year to have a few days there and hopefully meet my son.

Unfortunately, I have both front and back burners going on musically at the moment!

Aside from LGS, I'll be here for the rest of the year. Definitely keep me in the loop re: your plans. If you can swing a night in the city, I'd love to play tour guide for you and the Mrs!

:?: Any meet dates?
-
July is lookin good for me.
I have a gig on 23 June in Brooklyn (You should go to that one, Shag! PM me for details!!) and 21 July in Queens. Otherwise, July is open.
-
I will be away from June 28th until July 10th, but could do something 14/15 or 28/29.
-
Now is the time to do this if you want to come to my place! The wife is away until September 18th. I know next weekend will not work for most people here as it is Labor Day weekend, but that still leaves the 8th/9th or 15th/16th.
Lets see if we can get another together before they manage the UK ones!!
-
Checking schedule ...
I'm around, any date really. How's it look for th rest of the crue?!!
(Phil, you know the UK ppl will never get it together. Egging them on will only chafe them PDT_008 )
-
pfff these yanks couldn't organise a piss up in a brewrey ;)
but i must say that the london meet could probably do with a kick up the arse...
-
Hi Guys
I have plans this weekend but the 15th or 16th is cool. I asked my buddy and he needs to check with the wife
-
15th or 16th is still good, I put the guitars away a bit for the cleaner yesterday, but they can soon be got out again!!
