but i've started listening to a lot of Enter Shikari stuff recently, and i was wondering if the nailbombs would be powerful enough to get this kind of sound:

if not, which pickups would be best (this is for going into my OLP musicman copy)
Cheers

Sound like Nailbomb, I'm aiming for the same kind of sound but more in the Killswitch Engage vein :P
-
yeah same sorta guitar as them, cept more synthy and with like dance beats and stuff in the background (another reason to fit a kaoss pad) ... and with less full-on drums
-
I didn't know about that shiraki band but I know I hate their singer  too "MTV radio edit mumbo jumbo" for me
-
nah i don't think he's that bad, i'm not one for all the cookie-monster shouty stuff, and this band is one of the first to mix that with 'normal' lyrics, so they kinda clicked with me.
Plus i love the first riff in that video :D:D
-
Don't get me wrong, the music is pretty cool :D
-
:D :D and we all know that's what matters :D

why 7??

The riffing sounded good and then the singer went and spoiled it all - don't like that boy-band singing style in my metal.
Nailbombs would be a good bet for that stuff, go for it.
-
kewl, i just wanted to make sure that the NB was powerful enough, as i've never really used high output pickups before
-
Wow, the band sounds really good. I can't stand the $%ing singing though.
-
Hmmm- not really my thing but the guitar tone was cool
Kaos pad being used a lot in the intro
I preferred the Emo Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AC1DA9A27ms)
I know its been on here before but it makes me laugh
-
haha, never seen that video before :D
-
Nailbombs should do it and you should also be able to find a use for them with the style of stuff you normally play as well, so good call.

off topic, but is a kaos pad that thing that matt bellamy has below the bridge in one of his guitars? I saw him using it ages ago on a muse top of the pops special  , and wondered what it was. how the hell did he get it in there because i couldnt see any controls around it or anything
-
Didn't know Enter Shikari but I'm blown away! It's a wild mix of styles but the off beat playing and the voices of the bass player vs the singer and all, I think this is damn hot stuff and I'd love to play in that band !
-
why 7??
Why not? :drink:

It's a Zvex FuzzProbe mounted directly in his guitar
-
^ he also has the kaoss pad fitted to his latest custom builds, and i think he has all the controls on the floor, just the pad and the hold switch fitted to his guitar
-
Insane
-
oop my mistake, he has the fuzz factory in all of his customs, and the wah probe in his black manson - not the fuzz probe, as the idea of the fuzz probe is to control the stab without reaching to the floor, so it kinda defeats the object of putting it in the guitar if he could just have the control there :)
