Title: BC Rich BSDMs vs BKP Warpigs
Post by: adamzap on October 08, 2006, 03:21:58 AM
Hello Everyone

I have this guitar, a BC Rich Set Neck Warlock (with stock BSDM pickups)

http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/B.C.-Rich-Deluxe-Set-Neck-Warlock-Electric-Guitar?sku=511749

Nato Body w/ Nato Set-Neck
Ebony Fretboard
Large Diamond Inlays
Bound Neck
Graphite Nut
Quad Bridge
Black Hardware

Believe me, I'm not wondering if Warpigs will be better, I know that they will be...I'm just wondering how they compare if anyone has had experience. Or maybe I should just get a better guitar before better pickups? I love this one though.

Also, I play through a Crate XT65R.

Bonus question: About how much will it cost me to get them installed?

Thanks

Yeah buy the better guitar and then you have time to save for some BKPs for it later.

You can install them yourself.... it's pretty easy if you've ever soldered anything before...

That guitar is not that bad for an import BC Rich (wich usualy are cr@p)
Nato is a species of mahogany so it'll be ok. BDSM pickups are some of the worst variety I've ever tried so Warpig will be better, that's for sure

I changed the BDSM pickup in my Mockingbird with a Warpig and it makes a world of difference.

The BDSM seems to be based on early distortion style pickups but the quality is very poor. The Warpig will make that guitar louder, chunkier, more dynamic, more pronounced and simply brutal.

Hard to compare those two pickups. Itīs like comparing a Yugo to a Corvette.

Thanks for the responses guys. That Yugo vs. Corvette reference was great :)

I've only been playing for about two years, so I'm in no rush to get a brand new guitar. My band has only been practicing together for a month.

I can really see my self using this guitar as a backup one day, so I'm pretty set on getting new pickups for this axe.

Any more info is much appreciated, too.
