Title: 5-way switch question
Post by: n_mountain on October 10, 2006, 06:53:18 PM
Hi,
are there 5-way switches which in a 2 Humbucker guitar give me:
1. bridge hum
2. bridge split
3. one coil of each hum in series
4. neck split
5. bridge hum
???
I know of one type which has all position like above except 3 is in parallel, and I know of one which has positions 1,3,5 like above but has the outer or inner coils of the Hums in parallel in pos 2 and 4.
Stephan

The superswitch will let you do this.  BK sell it, it is a 4-pole 5-way blade switch.  If you have a regular toggle switch, then you will have to use a rotary switch (like PRS), or put coil tap switches on the pots.

Hey Philking,
I know, the superswitch will let you do almost anything, but do you know how I would have to wire it to get the configuration I want?
Everytime I try figure things like that out I get knots in my brain :)

Just realised, middle setting is parallel.  For Series you need this:
