Title: Replacing a licensed Floyd Rose?
Post by: ChrisMetal on October 10, 2006, 10:37:27 PM
Anyone know how to replace a licensed floyd rose with an original? Any good step by step guides out there. Or has anyone here done it?

Its a Dean Razorback, and the tremolo just seems to be a standard licensed design. its definately not a pro. I wanna replace the licensed floyd with an original, as this is one of the things that the rather expensive Razorback has over the cheaper ones.

best bet is to go to www.floydrose.com to get the routing templates and then do a load of measuring...

I recently discovered my Ibanez Edge and Schaller floyd rose (II) have the same stud spacing,

woo hoo I thought, chance for a little experimentation...

but the routing is so completely different I couldn't even get them in the holes properly.....

The moral is, FRs come in all shapes and sizes so a bit of woodwork is likely.

^ agreed, that's why i suggested some frantic measuring, just in case he's lucky.
