-
:D If its true then well done Tim !
:D 8)
-
:o
but .... but ...
:?
who is going to wind the pickups for all my future guitars?
-
I get the feeling Tim has helpers now and doesn't wind any himself any more... :(
-
If this is true, I hope the quality of the pickups doesnt suffer from him not having the time.. Need to get my order for my strat in asap
-
:o
I bet Tims excited as hell!
And I hope hes trained his padawans well...
Wonder what pickups he'll be using with them....duncans
-
so that explains why he hasn't answered my pm yet...
nice work, though. \m/
-
Yeah, Duncan are gonna contact Tim and suggest a signature pickups for mass production
-
We'll have to start identifying our pickups as 'Pre' & 'Post' Iced Earth era.
-
aha
penny drops now :)
When speaking to Tim awhile back he said (obviously able to say now) that the new Painkiller pups were being tested by Iced Earth, good one Tim ;)
-
I wonder if the value of pre-Iced Earth models will go up.. hopefully, then I can sell mine, make a profit and buy another pair
-
Interesting... I think Iced Earth could benefit from a bit of British Steel.
Looking forward to reading more details from the man himself.
-
Anyway dudes: Tim rocks! I am really jealous that he can live his dream, but he deserves it.
So may the God of Rock be with him, and give him big tone and harmonic feedback wherever he may plug into his wall of 15 cranked 60s Plexi Marshalls roaring on the endless stages of Iced Earth, and may he be so hot that Iced Earth melt and vanish.
Amen.

haha, +1. I'm jealous aswell.

as far as im aware Tim never wound the majority of single coils anyway it was one of the other dudes who works there, Tim wound my VHII i know that much and it sounds bloody fantastic, i hope BKP retains the quality it has had so far and doesnt slip or anything daft..
But i wouldnt turn down a place in iced earth, so good luck tim.
-
It is great that Tim can put his double talent (pickups & playing ability) :D and his rock & roll hair to professional use.
-
But does this mean he's leaving Cornwall for the US??
-
Hmm, My amp might be hitting ebay soon:
"Engl Screamer previously owned by Tim Mills of Iced Earth"
Nice one Tim :drink:

bareknuckle pickups are sick
if this guy is playing the just the guitar sound is gonna be amazing
i can't wait to actually hear him do soemthing
+10000
Good luck Tim, i still havent seen Iced Earth live so i'll be bringing a BKP banner when i get to see them 8)
PS wonder if this means Tim can get TOs band on tour with Iced Earth.. now that would be worth seeing!
-
Feline Tim Mills sig guitar too?
-
Yes, its true Tim has joined Iced Earth, although it wont affect the business in the long run. Tim has never wound all of the pickups by himself, there has always been at least 3 of us working at bare knuckle, all of us winding.
So, to answer your qustion, no the quality of the pickups will not be affected.
Tim will be still living in Cornwall and will still be heading Bareknuckle.
-
Yay, Go Steve...
Does this mean he's leaving the bareknuckle crew completely or will he still be around from time to time?
-
bloody hell! good on him!
I've been a big fan of Iced Earth for a while now and Tim is an incredibly tastefull guitarist, a great addition to IE. Hopefully they'll come to bloody England to play now! :D
-
Iced Earth $%ing rule!!!!!
And now they rule even more, well played Tim!
-
Congratulations Tim-I wish you every success-as I say on these occasions: Knock 'em bandy!
-
Fantastic news. Congrats Tim. :D
-

Yes, and they must come to Finland
-
Nice one Tim! All the best mate. I'm sure it will be a great experience and future for you!! :D

So when Iced Earth play the UK, we can all have this BKP night we have been discussing, at the gig! Man imaginge hearing those BKP guitars roaring and screaming, fnarr fanrr!!!
Talk about cool! 8)
-
Wonder who Iced Earth are going to take along as there support band on the next tour?
Get your passport ready Ben! ;)
Great news, congrats Tim!
-
Congrats Tim.
I can't wait to hear what Iced Earth sounds like with Tim and those Painkiller loaded guitars.
-
Hi Guys,
just wanted to say thanks for all the positive comments and as Steve says, I'll still be very much at the front of BKP, still winding(and yes I do personally wind ALL the single coils myself), still answering the calls and doing the emails etc.Obviously recording and touring commitments will be covered by Steve and the rest of the BKP team although even then I'll still be involved in the day to day admin of the business.
At the moment I'm working on new material with Jon Schaffer and doing my best to contribute constructively towards the new album.
I've always been in bands, principally the Ozzy tribute, all the way through my BKP career and this will be an extension of that albeit on a much higher level. It's early days at the moment so lets see where it goes!
-
Does the band have a forum? Reckon they'd appreciate me migrating my fanclub over there, so that it can follow your hair wherever it may go?
-
i'm a bit late on this one, but many congratulations Tim. i'm not actually familiar with Iced Earth's music, so yet again this damn forum is going to force me to spend money on new music!!!
best of luck with it, look forward to hearing the results.
-
All the best Tim, thats great news!
-
I remember Iced Earth from "back in the day", going to have to pick up some cds. All the best you lucky dog.
-
Poor Tim btw
He must learn the major of the Iced Earth songs now note by note
-
At least the BKP forum members can guarantee Tim a thousand-odd sales of the next album.
Although I guess they'll be wanting to do rather better than that...!
-
Best to you Tim :D
-
I just saw this... grats Tim!
Hope the company keeps up to par.
-
Way to go, Tim! Best of luck.
-
Hope the company keeps up to par.
Rest assured there will be no drop in standards at BKP as a result of me playing with Iced Earth.BKP is a very well organised business built on very close interaction with our customers and making sure we build the best pickups we can backed up by the best service.

Have a great time with the band and i look forward to hearing what you do with iced earth! :D
-
Tim, I wish you the best of luck with Iced Earth, and I hope you have a great time playing with them too.
-
Iced Earth > FPS_Dean
-
Maybe you can mention in the booklet credits of each song which pickup has been used - like this you don't need to produce another BKP demo CD :)
Hunter - the economist - you can never neglect your roots
-
Congrats, Tim! Good luck! 8)
-
That's really cool, congrats tim. Just don't start autographing pickups or anything silly like that.
-
Well done Tim, thats really good news mate! I will definately come see Iced earth if they play UK anytime soon.
-

What, Tim isn't going to make his own signature model? Think of the freebies he could give himself. Er, ah, yesss .... :)
-
THe "Iced Earth" would be a big seller to the power metal fraternity... ;)
-

only if it's signed on the baseplate hehe
best of luck timmay!!!!!! have fun.
OMG!!!
is it (even remotely) possible... to get shaffer to next years london guitarshow? that would totaly rule!!
-
congrats :))
>warm shake of the hand<

Tim has personally trained all of us to the standard that is expected from Bareknuckle. I have been working for Tim for the past 2 years so myself and all the staff are producing pickups to the high quality and standards that is to be expected from BKP. Therfore the standards will not be compromised due to Tim becoming a member of Iced Earth.
-
Well put, Steve.
-
That's good because I thought Tim wound every single pickup himself
-
 I donīt know who is Tim Mills but I say welcome to the best band in the whole and I wait you soon here in Mexico
-
Ehhmm... Mat.. Matt... THE Matt Barlow?? *jaws drops to ground*
-
I must confess that I know absolutely nothing about Iced Earth and have never actually heard any of their music, a quick google reveals that this barlow chap is also a policeman tho so I better start behaving!
Congratulations tho Tim, I think it's fair to say that everyone on here wishes for the day when they can call themselves a professional musician (except those who already are :P ). Well done chap! :D
-
I'm new around here, but I listened to a few clips Tim done. I was bullshiteeting with my broe today, and was telling him how good Tim could play. I said it's just a matter of time before someone grabs this guy. Escpecially with the buzz going on with his pickups.
-
It all makes sense. Clearly, Tim cares a lot about music -- that's why he's got a job ax-slinging for Iced Earth, that's why he makes great pickups. He's not just sitting in a shed somewhere wrapping wires around each other, he's actually real, live, guitar player who as it happens makes stuff that will appeal to other real, live, guitar players. What more d'ya want from a pickup manufacturer? :)
-
Carlaz,
I have to agree with you, thich is why I didn't think it worth posting anything regarding any issues with the BK products, when he is working in Iced Earth.
Tim cares and his team @ BK care about the pickups so theres no sense in posting.
I'm more interested in Tims good fortune (wondering if Tim will have any mgfrs chasing him for endorsements, and if he will agree to any)
Anyway best wishes.

it'd be cool if they looked like sambo's guitar teacher...

I wish you and the band all the best!
