I was about to make an Irish joke when I decided to google the name tiny terror

Found this
 http://www.orangeamps.com/tinyterror/

now that sounds like an interesting amp.

Do you have a local stockist?

Seems like a great price to me to be honest!  :D

I've been considering 1 of these myself for a while now. After checking the prices on GAK, I could get a Tiny Terror head and an Orange 1x12 cab (could also use with my current Orange head) for £498 in total. Looks like a great price to me!  :D

it only has one tone control, no low mids or highs, damn, but then again, my be the exact sound i'm looking for, it's a better price from the zvex nano too and can do cleans.

The fewer controls the better AFAIC, much more difficult to f*ck up the tone!     I seem to have a knack for finding all the settings at which perfectly good amps sound utterly horrible....

I couldn't agree more Philly- less is definately more so long as the amp has a good basic tone.

The review and clips on the new Guitarist CD are seriously dangerous. Don't buy the magazine as it'll cost you 299 GBP in the end !!

exactly... the epi valve junior is around £100... granted it has less knobs... but yeah, the orange TT would need to be noticeably better to warrant the extra cash. I haven't tried the TT, by the way, maybe it rules.

£500 will buy you a lot of amp, though, if you're willing to go with a combo...

for example, with £500 I could buy an Epi VJ for home use, a laney vc30 for gigs, and have £100 left over to cover the vc30 footswitch, a speaker upgrade, and a (cheap-ish) overdrive pedal. you could run the VJ through the vc30 speaker, too.

I currently do have (apart from my Orange and Marshall heads) a Marshall JTM60 combo, which is more than loud enough for most gigs.

I've found that I just prefer the sound of my Orange amp, it just seems to suit me better.

My main gigging amp currently is an Orange AD30 head, with either the Marshall combo used as a 1x12 cab, or with a 2x12 cab.

By buying the Tiny Terror and a 1x12 cab, I'd have the option of using the cab with either head for gigging or recording etc, and it'd be a nice neat little setup.

Whereas Orange combos are above £600, so are kinda out of my price range.

No worries mate.

I think I will go with a Tiny Terror and an Award Session 1x12 cab with a Vintage 30 speaker

After I order my Mules anyway  8)  :D

Guitarist mag have reviewed it this month-they give it 5 stars.Whether you take any heed or not is your choice. It is demoed on the accompanying CD but I have not hear it.

I have the mag and have heard the clip, sounds fab, but I wanna hear a neutral real user's opinion of what it feels like, how it sounds on very low volumes etc.

I once had a UniValve and it sounded cr@p at low volumes, whereas the 80W shiva does a great job at conversation levels ... but I just wanna spare the Shiva a little ...

ohhh 'll have to pick me up a guitarist tomorrow. what are the gain levels like? the orange amps i've played have had quite modern generous amounts of gain, but since this is a small amp would i be right in assuming it's more moderate?

some guy posted clips, I'd say it has gain enough ...

am I the only one who thinks they should have painted the outside of the TT orange instead of white?

orange paint clearly has better tone.

not really.  I do think it'd look better, though.

EDIT: that gibson drive clip does sound pretty good...

Yeah the gibson drive is the one that attracted me the most, although they all sound fantastic. i think they shoulda given it orange tolex - it looks like it's not finished being built :? I'd build a cabinet to house that head

^ agreed- but even orange paint would be better than what's there at the moment.

I guess they want to differentiate it from their UK-built models...

Those sound clips sound ace!

I'm not so keen on the Gibson Crunch 1, but the Strat 1s sound really nice n the Gibson Drive 1 sounds really ballsy :)

yeah i'm listening to that gibson crunch one now, and it sounds a bit... im not sure, kinda fizzy compressed? something about it i don't like that much - i can see it working a whole lot better with humbuckers though

Maybe the amp just needed a kick in the arse?

My Orange sounds great when it's having it's arse kicked by a good boost pedal :)

I personally loved the Clean and Crunch Strat clips, if I'm honest, I probably preferred them to the Gibson clips!
