So I ordered a SPLAWN QUICK ROD :twisten:!!!!!
Yeah, I'm pretty excited  I've been looking for a good tube amp for a while now. I had it down between the QR and a Bogner Shiva. I played a Shiva but I wan't too impressed, and the quality seem a little lacking. I've been hearing a lot of good clips and words about the Splawns (thanx TO!) and I talked to them direct and they know a lot!
Should be here around Christmas, now I'm counting the days!
I ordered a Black Tolex Quick Rod JCM 800 style head with a brown cane grill, and a matching 4x12 cab!
Well just thought I'd share!

Damn glad to hear it. A good amp is a 1/4 of the battle; guitars, effects, & talent are the other 3/4's . Best of luck with it :!:
-
Nice one, Guitarzan!
You will be blown away. Get ready for takeoff!!!
-

GH50L I see! Whats it like compared to the Splawn?
-
I used to run this 2 amp set up and have the Laney running almost clean together with the Splawn running dirty so i didnt really use the Laney as it should be used, but it did sound pretty good when i did fire it up!
Anyway im back to the Splawn only set up now because even though it sounded huge it was a pain moving all that gear!
-
Oh right.. I cant afford a Splawn but am almost set on getting a GH50L as I've heard it does the Marshall thing very well, and all the clips I've heard sound awesome.
-
GH50L :) I just ordered one of those, it's going to take a week today to dispatch though :(

I'm very pleased to see other players going the same path I've chosen, gear-wise. There is something very special about Bare Knuckle pickups and the Spawn Quick Rod. They are stellar products that really help you develop your OWN signature tone. Same with HBE pedals. There are few things more pleasing than playing through a rig and being amazed the sound, and knowing (a) it's YOURS and (b) each part of the chain was built by another person specifcally for you.

i hate all of you..
at least i look better than any of you chimps

Well now that I've gotten the BKP bug I can't seem to help myself  . AND I've been lusting after a better amp for a while now. I got the one that I have now at the same time last year, so I'll probably be in the same boat next year that I am in now. Though I expect it will be about a cab or a smaller practice amp  .

Guitarzan, Is that a Mansel guitar?. I think I have seen you at the Splawn forum?. Congratulations.

No, I wish it was. It's actually a LTD-GL500H (I believe????) George Lynch model guitar. It's a restoration project at the moment, It was in a pretty desolate state when I got it.
And yes, I have been around the Splawn forum. One can never blog enough it seems!
