Hello everybody,
I am a new member here. Excuse me if you do not understand me well because I am french ( ).
Well, I have discovered BKP not long ago and I am very impressed of Tim's job ! I read several comments on Harmony Central and all of them said that the quality and the sound are fantastics!!
So I guess it is time for me to change the pickups of my Strat for a triogy set but I am not sure between these and the Mother's Milk set.... :?
So please guys can you make some samples with Trilogys in all positons both in clean and distorted sound ( rythm or lead as you want :P )
so that I can have an idea of the sound I would get...
Thanks a lot !
best regards,
Bilou

Wrong forum but do a search in the players forum. There are a few clips of them there.

you say you can't choose between trilogy suite and mother's milk, these are pretty much opposite ends of what is available. mother's milk are 1950's style strat pickups, fairly low output, classic sound. trilogys are high output modern pickups, basically eighties metal. they are single coil pickups that replicate eighties mini humbucker power with additional tone!
what sound are you looking for?

Thanks to you guys,
Well, I would like to have a clear sound when I play with the distortion channel of my amp. I get a muddy sound when I play Hard Rock riffs and solos so that's why I want to change my p.ups and Bare Knuckle seems better to me than Di Marzio !!
fps_dean, I have heard some samples of the Trilogy but I would like to hear a sound clip with a clean sound and a distortion sound and there are no clips like that... :?
Blue, I would like my sound to be clear when I play Hard Rock and early Metal so if you say that Trilogys replicate the sound of this era, I'll go for them :D :D . I hesitate between Trilogys and Mother's Milk because I do not want a p.up that is fat and dark sounding in the clean channel like a humbucker because I like to play ballads (etc..)
If you have advices you are more than welcome :P !!
Thanks a lot,
Bilou

Although I've not tried any of the bareknuckle singles, it seems like the Sinner bridge singlecoil might be best for early metal and hard rock.. could then use that pickup for your heavier stuff, and get some mothers milk neck and middle for your ballads? Just an idea..

The Sinner and Trilogy Suite middle and necks would work too...
I'll tell you this... I'm awaiting a Nailbomb and a Trilogy Suite middle and neck. The Trilogy suites seem to saturate where the Irish Tours in contrast seem to crunch. They seem to sound great clean too but not so much in a classic strat way. They seem to be very harmonically rich....

Thanks guys !
I have read what Tim says about the Sinner and it is not the kind of pickup I am searching... too much heavy ! and I think it will sound more like a humbucker than a strat with a clean sound, I mean it will be fat and dark sounding... ( but I can be wrong , who knows :?: )
_tom_ , I do not think that I will buy a Mother's Milk pickup because as have said blue, it is a "hot" vintage pickup and I prefer a modern sound but thanks for your idea !!
fps_dean , when you will get your pickup set could you post a sound clip for me please ? I will really appreciate!!!!
It is not a problem if the Trilogy sounds bigger than a classic clean strat sound. I guess the clean losts a bit in brightness but it is still a clean sound and you get a real lead sound because , as you siad, these pickups
seems to saturate... 8)
If Tim can tell me if I am wrong or not that would be cool :D
Thanks to all of you , you are very welcoming !!
Cheers,
Bilou

I don't think you'd go wrong with a set of Trilogies.

I'll be a couple weeks but sure! It might take me a little while because I just started a new job 90 minutes away, so by the time I get home I'm already ready for bed.

That's not very rock and roll. (And it takes me over an hr to get to and from work, as well -- and not in the privacy of my car! On the TB-infested NYC mass transit system!)
