So, my Nailbomb and MQ combo arrived on Thursday, and I just got them fitted and back today.
First impressions: To be fair, I haven't played guitar for a week, so just plug the Gibson straight into my Orange Rockerverb 100 - no fx.
And at first, to be completely honest - I NOTICE NOTHING...
But, I just find myself playing and playing. Not even thinking, just riffing away. Then I stop and realise I have a big grin on my face. And it hits me - the clarity! The tone! The goddamn crunch! So I riff away...
My Les Paul is tuned to C# as my 'standard' tuning. Previously, with the stock PU's this was getting really muddy and I could not jackhammer the riffs out. NOW IT SEEMS TO SOUND BETTER THE LOWER I TUNE! Heh, C standard just rips it up and then B (BEADF#B) is just chugging heaven...my Orange is now doing Crowbar riffs proud and the harmonics are leaping out the amp! Pure, sonic nirvana :D
The P90 equipped neck gives a great earthy, raspy sound when mixed with the NB in middle position. And the neck just is soooo smooth for solos. I couldn't stop playing, it sounds cheesey but it's true!
I really should give the clean channel I go I guess :P
Damn, I'm so stoked. Everything is in place. The perfect setup! I`ll post some sound clips hopefully tomorrow.
Compared to everything else Iv'e tried, the BKP's rule the roost!

I play in C# as my standard tuning on most of my guitars too (and drop B as my drop D), and I swear by BKs for it. Plenty heavy and such clarity! Theres nothing that compares to a metal BK with heavy strings and tuned through the floor!
Edit: and it is one of those things thats good because you dont notice it: you play, and the only thing that determines if you hear a tone cearly is if you played it cleanly: theres no wrestling with muddiness or fizziness, it just sounds like a guitar is damn well supposed to :D)

Is this your first troll posts, Dave
I have a guitar in E too. Miracle man bridge. Sounds OK. The guitars a POS 100 quid job that I've replaced everything on except the neck. Thats next. Then I'll make the same rubbish guitar it started out as again from the parts

^
yeah, couldn't resist. I'll be tuning my new guitar down a bit, when I get round to actually getting it. or ordering it.
and nice work on the "fixer-upper".
maybe when you get it back to original, you can try upgrading some of the parts?
;)

And end up with another home-assembled guitar and the parts for the POS lying about...
It'll never end!
NOOOOOOOOOOO!

^ exactly!
anyway, i guess we better get back on topic...

Fine...
Then theres my epi, tuned to drop A. mmmmmmm nile-y!
Swinseheads in that though (and they do a great job, but I didnt say that here  )
I saw Sikth play...Pin uses nailbombs in blackmachines through a diezel herbert in drop Ab and drop C#. Sounded Fantastic!

I play acoustic in DADGAD - does that count?

Real men get warpigs instead of drop tuning to make it sound heavier, right Davey? ;)
