Title: SP77 Clips (BlackDog content)
Post by: hunter on November 01, 2006, 05:58:27 AM
With brand new Sovteks (2xLPS A Grade and 2xLP) the SP77 unleashes its true potential
It was early in the morning so neither is this a power amp at its proper level nor could the speakers or the microphone get into real dynamics. Therefore it's a bit fizzy, but believe me guys (and I guess you get the idea from these whisper level recordings): The gain on this preamp is brutal like hell and just pure 80s metal mayhem.

These go for about 200 quid on the bay, a real bargain!!!

All clips were done on my beloved Epi Les Paul  with a BlackDog set. Power amp in of the Shiva at 0.01 master volume    and closely miced by an SM57

Great sound! Some fine work - especially the third track. It sounds as if you were using a lap steel guitar or tremolo bridge. Cool 8)

Very nice!  Where did you get the backing track for sample #3?

Great 80s metal tone

May I ask from which song is that little bit of lead shred on the riffin track? because its sounds like a bit of the Crazy Train Solo  :)

Loved the Page tone on timeofg btw

and I loved that wah lead on walkingbymyself  8)

Overall it was amazing, which bits of each song were did on neck and which on bridge??

Keep it up,

RorySRV,

Thanks dude ;o) I find the Gary Moore one sloppy and out of tune now, but when I played it, it felt "energetic" :D

-Basically Walking by myself is all Bridge,
-on the Zep one the low gain slides were Neck (vol rolled back) the rest Bridge
-on the freeweelie one the blues bit with rolled back volume as well as the G'nR bit are neck, the rest Bridge full on

Nice.

Do you reckon say a bridge black dog could handle all of the stuff on its own anyway with a bit of tweaking??

Hunter that sounds pretty darn good. I'm wondering what type of audio interface you use. Do you use some sort of usb audio interface to your computer?
