So what's the difference between a Black Dog neck and a Mule neck?

 Is the BD neck:

Alnico V, bit hotter, bit less treble and more bass/lower mids?

 vs Mule neck:

AIV, bit sweeter, bit more highs?

In which case, a Black Dog bridge and AIV Mule neck is the prefect "rock and blues" combination?
-
The Mule neck is sweeter and warmer despite the fact that overall Mules are very balanced. The Black Dog neck has more bass and a touch more bite as well as more power too.

Cheers Tim.  I feel a BD/Mule combo beckoning for my Les Paul  ;)

-
Thats whats going into mine when I get my Vintage V100 and have saved some money up.

Question is what colours do you reckon you will go for Twin??

I expect I will go for a Nickel Covered Mule Neck and a Uncovered Black Dog Bridge in either Cream or Black.

But then again I am a big Page fan as you have probably guessed

 So how about you??

 RorySRV,

Both covered Chrome is what I'd go for.  I may well go down the "unpotted" route too...

-
				Sounds good.

 Hope you enjoy em
