Now remember a 22k ceramic warpig sounds hotter than a 22k alnico warpig. So if you get a custom warpig you can rape everyone EMG. You won't have as much as as the Kent Armstrong Motherbucker (27k) but you'll crush it with the big low end, I've heard.
-
Bit overkill doncha think?

Bit overkill doncha think?
Only in a good way
-
overkill is a good thing  ! lol... anyway, would a ceramic neck warpig have good clean tone?
-
Just a slight overkill... LoL
RorySRV,
-
anyway, would a ceramic neck warpig have good clean tone?
Probably not. You'll want Alnico V for the neck position and split it for wicked clean sounds. It'll be jazzy and warm in series - quite nice.
-
Overkill is GOOD!
The neck pig is A5 in all circumstances: ceramic bridge comes in a set with A5 neck
The onlt pickup BKP do thats ceramic neck is the painkiller.
-
doh... but i still am undecided between the Nailbomb neck and the Warpig neck... im looking for a chunky, heavy and defined metal style distorted rhythm tone that sounds a bit like Opeth's Blackwater Park album (and every album afterwards) tone. i love a fat bottom end (grow up) and a nice clean tone, but thats not that vital. any help would be appreciated.
-
Just go for a warpig dude that what im gettin and I play all sorts of metal.
-
yeah thats my choice now... ceramic warpig bridge. my dimebucker will go in the neck, because the stock dean neck pickup is absolute shitee and there would be a HUGE volume change between the current low output neck one and the warpig.
the dimebucker is a higher output, so it will balance fairly well with the warpig.
i dont really want a great pickup for cleans in the neck because i want my razorback to be a metal machine, so i will have 2 ceramic metal pickups in it!

Those should mix well until you can get a wrapig neck and then they will mix great
