Title: Ibanez CS9 or EH Small Clone
Post by: Crazy_Joe on November 10, 2006, 06:35:14 PM
I've heard clips of both, these two are the best chorus pedals for what i want i think. 80's classic chorus effect, think metallica's sanitarium, it needs a lot of depth.

The chorus sound i want is pretty much this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sizGeqtMAGg

I'm thinking Ibanez CS9, however it's double the price of the EH, and the EH sounds awesome too, though i'm not sure if it has as much depth.

Opinions?

Shoot - I saw ST in the mid 80s - they haven't aged at all.

I have a CS9 and a Pro Tone Lithium (basically a Small Clone with a variable rate) - I'd say the CS9 is deep enoug - it's a beaut effect but has a mild range (in a good way) - the Small Clone has more range, but less control.

The CS9 can easily do what you want. Great pedal that doesn't suck tone out of your original signal.

SMALL CLONE!!!!! ;)

The NYC reissues really do sound "lush" with plenty of depth. There's also the new "Nano" EHX pedals.

defo Small Clone - I like the rawer early chorus pedals than the super-refined ones that you hear on most records.

many Nirvana clean tones used a Small Clone and it sounds great.
